Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Reported 900k : surely that's a joke hey.

I don't understand why everyone thinks this is a joke. It's been reported on here from people who I don't think are full of it AD and Hastings were both after that amount and maybe more.

I’m not singling out your post. Rather using it to make a general point for those in the Moses = bad camp.

Firstly, I can understand the hate. I was pretty annoyed by the whole thing myself at the time, but can we all imagine that we were eternally judged by one thing we did in our 20’s and were completely written off for all time?

I think some leeway is needed for dumb things people do when they’re young. He’s been a relative cleanskin since then and seems to have matured as a footballer. We might be getting a better version of him?

I can't stand him but I agree with you.

I saw some one call him the Lebanese Mbye and although I think he has the potential to be better than Mbye, it seems to becoming true.

This is starting to sound about right isn't it. Maybe he turns it around this season but I can see him being a decent 14.

AD on $750,000, will not get a half, fullback or centre position in 2024. Imagine a move to the forwards, if he muscles up and learns how to tackle, then maybe $500,000.

😂😂😂

You deliberately misquoted me there.

I'm not someone who believes dribble on here easily but in this instance I'm positive they were both after massive salaries that they didn't deserve especially Doueihi.

Think everyone should chill on Mitch.

Beware the dogs.

Hope I’m wrong.

I don't think we'll get him but I don't care that much. I'd prefer him here but on the salary we will have to pay him I'm not sure if it's worth it.

I'm stoked about getting IP, Api and Klemmer though. If we get Bateman and he performs that'll make a difference as well.

A lot of people only remember AD's football from this season gone. Coming back fro a ACL is a long and slow road
I want to see what he delivers in 2023 before writing him off. He would be a great captain as he has passion in his belly, finding the right position for him to play will be the challenge

This. A lot of people (Brooks fans) like to forget that AD was by far our best player in 2021 when he was playing 5/8 and was still dangerous behind a beaten pack unlike Brooks.

It will have been well over a year since his surgery and this will likely be his first offseason training at 5/8. I think people will be in for a surprise in 2023 with AD as our 5/8.

I don't think most on the forum thought he was our best player. And the fact he has not got a contract for 2023, would suggest our coaches don't rate him to highly either !

When I see AD I think of Yeo, similar size, similar running style. I think he could make a modern day lock and play that link role. Also it a little easier defending the middle than on a edge. Probably will not happen if Bateman comes and we still need a no6 for 2023, so I guess he will play that role

And lots of other clubs would be interested except his price tag is ridiculous
No one is interested … only us

When they heard what Brooks was on I don’t blame them. 🤣

Hastings article today was an interesting read. Personally think it really shows the professionalism of Jacko and Sheens. Many have questioned the decision, but for a player who received a major pay upgrade and a long term deal in the position they prefer, to turn around and vent to the media about their former club rather than focus on their new club that has made a major investment speaks volumes. Sheens reaction in contrast shows the level of professionalism to the club, player and opposing club that it deserves.

On Moses, very very positive signs. Personally, i think this will get done minus a last minute change of heart from Parra in terms of pay. The figures getting thrown around are definitely overstated. Deal from the Tigers is around 950k-1.1m under the cap across the years (about 100-200k in TPAs) with Parra under that and the Dogs offering similar/slightly more over the last 2 years. However, its between Parra and the Tigers. Moses has no hard feelings towards the Tigers and is eager to play with Brooks and work with Sheens, Benji and Robbie. Currently in the US, however will inform the club this week on his return.

Bishops news this week was fairly spot on, hence the reluctancy to commit to a timeline for annoucement. With Isaac Moses managing both Bateman and MM the annoucement will be delayed until the club is certain with what is happening with MM and the possibility of MM arriving in 2023. If he was able to be granted an immediate release, the Bateman deal would be slightly restructured to accomodate MM in 2023. This is extremely unlikely, as i personally can't see Parramatta letting him go early and have stated as much to strong arm him into staying.

In other news, To'o will be staying at Penrith and it is also very likely that Crichton will reject a big money offer from the Bulldogs to stay barring further offers/upgraded offers. Burton will be staying at the dogs after rejecting the first two extension offers and will be on 900k+ rising to 1m in the 3rd and 4th years. Personally think this is a good deal for both parties given the rise in the cap and Burtons age/potential. Farnworths manager has been speaking to a few clubs but think he will be at the Dolphins with the money they are offering. Dom Young getting a ton of offers and will be out of Newcastle if they cannot get close to matching.
Thanks for the update CCTW, some really encouraging news there, and great to hear the Dogs are going to miss out on Crighton

Have we still got or ever did have an iron in the fire with Williams if Moses chooses elsewhere?
