Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

And the Brooks ...Hastings ......Douehi ...Madden and now Will Smith argument continues

Agree on this ...they all will suck and they are all crap

Lets starting finding their replacements and then argue about them .....please ......

Arguing about the above 4 is like arguing whether dog crap or horse crap smells worse

Answer ...they all smell ....real badddd.......

Sheens loves a bad half, remember Johnnie Cronk?

It truly boggles the mind to understand how the Storm do it. They not only re-signed Pap, Munster and Hughes all on big long term contracts, but they also managed to re-sign the understudies on long term deals. Pezet and Faa'alago would be playing first grade at most clubs, and have their pathways blocked for the next 4 years, outside of injury/origin. I get signing a one years deal but both pezet and faa'alago just re-signed long term last week. Both would have been absolutely sensational signings for us, but they'd rather be backups for the next few years 🙁
Maybe they love doing their apprenticeship in the sunshine state?

To say Sheens wants winners, then back Brooks is a deadset oxymoron, Brooks is not a winner, I agree with Happy, we need better than all of them
Sheens did not give Brooks his current contract, he has not extended his contract, how is that an
oxymoron ? He has pursued another halfback, so he realises Brooks shortcomings. He along with many on the forum is not convinced that Hastings, AD, Laurie or Brooks is the way forward, and has not extended their contracts. He is waiting to see how they perform in 2023, with a better pack.
(Don't forget they have contracts) At the moment he has tried very hard to get alternative halves.
How is that backing Brooks ? As a coach he must encourage and support the players he has, what coach does not? Your all getting your knickers in a knot over bugger all!

But Sheens would have pushed hard for Brooks in 2013 and beyond if he was kept on as coach

He has to give Brooks a chance behind a decent pack ...and I have said this for too many seasons now ...this HAS to be Brooks last chance ...no Top 8 ...on ya bike Lukey ...

Let's see what the Newcastle forum say mid next year. He does have footy IQ, but a frontrowers speed. --One hump or 2 for you guys?

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Moses Manager say this will be sorted before Xmas?
If thats the case only 3 Business days to go before we know the answer.

IMO I think it needs to be wrapped up prior to the Xmas break so when all the players return after the break they know whats happening and can just focus on footy.

I think Souths are announcing the extensions of Walkers and LM tomorrow so I would assume the salary cap might be sorted finally as well.

All spine spots except for hooker are up for grabs the way I see it.

There’s also a huge reason why neither Laurie or AD have secured contracts elsewhere at this point despite it being public knowledge they’ve not been extended at WT.

I am not sure why Hastings is copping so much on here.

He busted his guts for us and has a genuine footy IQ.

Speed is not a factor IF you give him a 6 who has speed and can play off the cuff footy.

And he will have that in Ponga.

I actually think they will be a great pairing as their skillsets combine well.

I have been a long term Brooks fan on here...watched him since Holy Cross.

But, facts are facts, he can barely string a sentence together and has shown no ability to understand the game. Cooper Cronk commented a couple of years back that Brooks went to the side of the field for an entire set once when our opp had 12 men. Never once went to the side that was short.

I like him, and will always support a Balmain kid.

But anyone expecting Brooksy to develop any sort of game managing IQ in year 10 or so of his career will be disappointed. Yet again.

We need, desperately, to find a game managing half from somewhere. I still can't quite fathom why we did not swap Brooks for big Klem. Finding a running 6 is a hell of a lot easier than a game managing 7, which we once again do not have...
