Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Sheens got the name shifty for a reason. Reading that article you would think the club has had a informal chat with Moses and nothing much else.

I still think the Moses things is very long odds, but when Sheens plays things down, you never know

Both Dennis Tutty Terry Hill and the toothless souffs have proven that you can beat the governing body if you have a decent case and a will to win.It is only a matter of time before the NRL get beaten again imho
Souffs lost their court case.

Klemmer and Bateman for 4 yrs at full asking price is a reflection of our negotiation skills. Atrocious.

Both good for 2 plus an option for third.

When we sign a decent half or fullback I’ll be more complimentary.

Till then we’re a bottom 4 team.

And yes I was a Hastings fan at half. Everyone who couldn’t see that he was our best half is delusional and will probably be the first to pile on sheens, brooks and Pascoe when we’re struggling next year.

Hope you can all rip me to pieces next year if we’re winning.
How do you know what we paid for Klemmer and Bateman? - i haven't even seen any figures bandied about in the media like they usually do.

I think the rumor for Klemmer was we took his $800 k for his last year but there was no mention on the others or how Hastings the other way affected that. Bateman i havent seen any figures but i would assume we took on whatever he was on at Wigan atleast for his final 2 yrs with them, but they dont have as big a salary cap as us so no idea what he was on.

It would be unusual for an NRL player who has been at pre-season to look unfit at this time of year. Most of them have been doing army camps, sand dune runes, crazy cardio sessions and other intense stuff. Even Joey Oporto had muscle definition at Xmas.

Anyone know what we've been up to in our pre season?
Different approach this year with less contact apparently. From the little bit I’ve heard re the Train & Trials, Houston going very well. Mikey Tannous also good but injured his ankle. Hopefully not too serious.

Weird the hate given to @tigermate , he's questioning contracts not anything more. Honestly, there was similar excitement and backslapping when we signed Packer, matulino, Reynolds and then mbye. Big contracts for players who WERE once good players.

I'm positive about the signings, particularly Isaiah and API, less so Bateman (who I hope at least lives up to reputation of being good for club culture), but just because fans doubt the club management doesn't make them any less a fan. Four year contracts have been bad for us in the past, and these players have done nothing for us yet. Tigermate is right to be cautious, and fans should temper expectations about 2023. Not saying we can't be good, but we haven't been for a long time.
You know when one of your mates has a bad break up and you can understand his pain so you shoulder the burden of his negative attitude and support him through the tough times until he moves on and gets back to his fun loving old self again… except he doesn’t, he just wallows in his own damaged goodsness until people start avoiding him and you just wish he could once again shine bright and follow his hopes and dreams like the guy you used to know….?

I hate it when that happens ☹️
