Reports today say we have offered 500-600k for Luke Brooks. I guess I am a lot closer to the mark than you are buddy.

A bit of wishful thinking by the club I would think but worth a try.

Oh I definitely agree there. My original post yesterday stated "even if Brooks stays for around 550K" so I never said I thought it would happen, just that I think that is what we would offer.

Man we can't bend over to Brooks in a negotiation where he's played decently for the first time in years. Can you say he's been that much better than Wakeham? I mean he's been a bit better but not by a remarkable amount.

A 2 year deal for 450-500k a year would work. Anything more than that and we're entering overpay territory.

Should just give Brooks the rumoured amount and say we want you as a running 6 that’s your job and we’ll do everything in our power to get a game managing 7 to pair you with. If we don’t within the 2 yrs he can move on still only will be 30 and will have another 3-4 yr contract still available to him.

We have a game managing half, that kicks goals. His name is Wakeham.
I saw him feeding the scrum last week in the 20m zone. Just wears 6 on his jumper.

Yes Canberra spoiled the ruck but we had 0 points in 70 minutes when they had 13 on the field. You can't back up 66 with a near 0. He's never been consistent and his game is still very flawed.

When you're flush with cash you overpay stars because they're the building blocks of your team, not average players.

Prioritise a true halfback and then make a call on whether Brooks is a fit with them.

As I said earlier - Sandow (never an elite half) was getting 500k in like 2012…

was waiting for someone to blame Brooks short ball for his drop on the weekend - he wasn’t even looking at the ball, didn’t have his hands up - and was 20m upfield before he even realised he’d knocked on…

Seen plenty bigging him up, I don’t rate Talau much - but if he picking Him over AJ

It worries me if Fulton is actually trying to recruit Schuster, Koula, Sipley, Fainu etc...there are 14 other clubs we aren't linked to at all at the moment. Probs just lazy journos putting 1 and 1 together though.

I don’t know either but I’m prepared to wait a little longer to see what eventuates.

Why offer a 2 year extension, offer him 1 year why Sheen’s is head coach giving benji another year to make his mind up if Brooks is one of the halves he wants when he takes the reigns,you never know another option might come out of nowhere in the next 12 months.
Its amazing how all players raise their performance in their final year of a contract.

We want a high quality halves pairing to ignite the attack..which is spluttering along

But over here in reality, the market is what it is. The high quality halves tree is bereft of fruit.

My comment mentioned Latu Fainu, a generational halves talent. Our juniors contains the like of Large and Conti coming through, both very highly rated.

Who, specifically and realistically, league-wide are you targeting?
