Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

To all those smugly trying to point out that even the top sides struggle with their spine missing, I have just this to say…NO SHIT DICK TRACEY!
Whose god damned fault is it that our spine has been trash for years?
Whose god damned fault is it that we can’t cover injuries to our spine in anyway?
The recruitment, retention, strategy and forward planning in this club is dreadful and that goes beyond the roster and coaching staff. It’s the bumbling turds above them.

I think the point is the best clubs can't cover missing their spine so that doesent make us any different to them.

Do you really think that is true?
They will struggle for a week or two, then their depth boys will get them back on track.
The difference is our spine wasn’t good to begin with and we have no depth.
We are not comparable in any way to a top club.

There’s something in Taafe he would definitely be a good pick up - but where?

I’d personally prefer Fainu at 6 over him imo

He’s not taking Bula’s spot at FB and I don’t see him as being the type of 7 we need.

But I do see the talent

I have a feeling we will sign a half from super league for next year. I’m not sure who, but just got a feeling.
I think all our “aggressive” signings will come from SL…reason…they would not be across the constant media bagging we get at home

I think Fulton is professional enough to work behind the scenes, unlike the serial leakers here over the years … no doubt he’s working his magic in the background.
We’ve pre ejaculated our intentions too often in the past.
No news is good news after all the false starts and fake news in relation to signings over the years.
I think your pre ejaculating his appointment. No news is good news??? FMD we applaud nothing

Asking for his removal without a replacement is not a strategy.
No. You have caretakers for this. The best candidates won't even consider it unless the position is officially available. We can quietly put some feelers out to a few top candidates but we definitely ring have anyone lined up before he goes

Taffe looks to be and out and out 6 to me, much like Brooks always seemed to be a 6. He’d be a great pickup imo pair him with a serviceable half like a Trindall ect and you have a decent 6 & 7 but that’s too sensible we won’t do anything of the sort.
Also Taffe would obviously be a great back up at number 1

No other team in the history of the nrl would have kept the same player for 11 years that didn’t deliver results. He has been in form this year, but too little too late. And if he had any loyalty he would have jumped on the $550k being offered to him, for the millions of dollars he has stolen from the club in the time he’s been here and done absolutely nothing.
Loyalty is a two way street. He hung in there for as long as he could while we drove him up the cul de sac.

Agree with both Trindall and Taafe. Taafe is a specialist 7 he’s played all his junior football there. Honestly we need 3 new players in the halves.

Did we even try for Sexton ?
Our Roster is a serious problem . It seems almost daily I hear about other clubs recruitment Sexton to the Dogs ,Maybe Fainu Bros to Dolphins ,Tommy Talau and Luke Brooks to Manly
Joffa to Parra etc,etc,
LH says Wests Tigers are going to embark on a Massive recruitment program .!
Lee I couldn't agree more .Its exactly what we need !
However with our current image and ladder posItion I don't see how that is possible !
Unless we land at least 2 class playmakers and at least one class center and winger along with a bit more forward depth we are doomed to lose !

When was the last time Taffe played half? Genuine question, because I think he has something but I don’t like him at fullback.

Talau was a specialist halfback when he played junior football, but will never be a good half at NRL level.

Mate he sacked Madge & just stood by & watched us lose every game & cop the spoon even though he knew he was going to be head coach this year. Last years spoon is as much on Sheens as it is on Lee & Justin. Brooks requested twice to leave last year meanwhile Hastings wanted to stay but was told he’s a lock now they’re both gone & we have no halves for next season.

We’ll always have admiration for what Sheens did in 05 but bringing him back was yet another stupid decision by our wonderful front office. Everyone thinks our pathways is a success because of Sheens but how could he do so much in a year? It was Madge who laid all the ground work for our pathway systems which he doesn’t get recognition for.
It wasn’t just 05 but 10 & 11 as well we had a real shot to win one of those years as well. Remember gone in 12 then crickets since!
With Madge we were only heading one way, but he was hamstrung a bit by the great Cleary.
Hastings please, been sacked by nearly every club he’s been at, and that’s heaps. He’s a massively decisive individual, there were issues last years with players not getting on because of him. He’s always going to be like that, it’s his personality it won’t change. You can’t have as guy doing that at his level, it unbalances the side. Sheens would of known that.
Not saying Sheens is going to win us a premiership and I don’t know if bunji can make it, but they both love the club and want the best for us into the future. We didn’t have much choice with coaches due to our poor form, I would of went with Flanagan as I think he could of toughened us up, and that’s what we need. Sheens knows we need halves, let’s see what happens.
