Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Moses has done the kid a disservice. If his footy suffers from all the external noise and he ends up back in lower grades his development could be put back years. That bloke appears to be an A grade flog.
the player and family can change managers if they are not happy, the manager generally takes riding instructions from the player or family members

Based on the usual suspects with their doom and gloom and club bashing that just love to put paranoid speculation all over the “fan forum “ as if it is gospel .. it’s bullshit and it’s ruing this forum . Sick to death of it .. truly
but Ned you said nothing to worry about with Galvin 8 weeks ago when i first mentioned issues with galvin...
since then his manager has asked for two releases from the club, one before a ball was kicked this year and 2 last Thursday...

I would prefer us winning games and signing players

Well he’s not contracted and he and his family met with Richo many weeks back.
Since no deal has been done, it’s not looking good.
Heamasi is THE kid under 17 they won't just let go.

He'll leave a lot of pre-debut money on the table if he were to leave in my opinion.

He does it constantly. I'm amazed players can't see the damage he does to them and how he doesn't care how bad he makes them look.

IMO anyone who chooses to be managed by Moses is piece of shit. Galvins parents are off their heads signing their teenager to this grub.

It is widely known what he is like, everyone in the game hates him. So to choose him as the manager of your son shows a real lack of character.
Greed makes people make questionable decisions

Galvin aside, imagine if we secured Brandon Smith (to play lock, backup hooker) & Josh Schuster on low coin for 2nd row.

Note - TDS completes his apprenticeship in NSW Cup.
You know, Shuster isn’t going to want to play outside the halves. But if Galvin was to walk Shuster would make a very decent 5/8 outside of Luai. Then you have Latu as the support player.

Yeah, if can get into his zone, the shyster has what I call “innate footy talent”

Here’s some highlights and what you see is silky hands, some explosive speed and pause for sec and consider his in game awareness and reaction prowess.

I know it’s only a slice, a tad aged, but apart from Perhaps Api, we don’t have too much that close to shyster at peak:

Enjoy:

Like all players, the price has to be comfy, we need to screw his head on a bit tighter…but he’s worth a closer look.

He’s been dumped fair into the bin, his name is mud, but if he can step up, geez he’s got some gifts. I like his size as well.

Its strange how us forumers have a penchant or liking for so many different players from other clubs!!

The rich tapestry that is rugby league!

Richo has already said there will be a number of announcements regarding our juniors in the coming weeks and months.
Given players like Makasini are under contract for another 18 months massive there's no need to announce something just yet, wait till all resignings are made then announce them all at once.

At the right price yes, but he's too inconsistent. It's been our problem for years. You just can't rely on us to string performances together.

Seems like he plays for the highlights reel, but his best footy was at second row under Des. I doubt if we buy him that we get that version of him.

When have we ever brought out the full potential of a player struggling for form? I honestly can't think of even one.

Still think his ego could be managed if the people around him weren’t toxic. You can be easily brainwashed at his age. He’s probably had everyone in his ear, which has contributed to him feeling 10 feet tall.

Maybe, but let’s be real - it’s bloody tough to do especially this day and age. He isn’t like a normal 18yr old. He has managers, sponsors, family, coaches, players, mates (most will have egos as well) etc around him.

An 18yr kid who has been a step above and told most his life he is better than most , then gets the keys to a team & shines. Gets anything he wants. Add to this Robbie and Benji his coaches. Media beat up etc. Playing a very physical game where ego is a major part of it. The kid ego wise was on a hiding to nothing. And this is without really getting into the party scene that will eventually happen over the next few years as he gets more cash.

Hopefully he will get a very big lesson from this on how he treats his teammates, club and supporters. Because he hasn’t handle this well - doubt he cares about it now but sooner or later it will hit him.

Lets hope Richo steps in and learns from this as well to ensure we focus abit of effort around education and development of the kids coming through.

South’s tried to get Delaney & it sounds like st Helen’s didn’t want to let him go

the issue was the manner in which they went about it. Souths were openly talking about signing him but didn’t go thru the front door, which is obviously negotiating a transfer fee before talking with the player. Richo won’t be as naive.

Richardson is leaps and bounds ahead of our former administration when it comes to having the nous to negotiate recruitment contracts, retention and dealing with player managers.
