Actually Richo has been on the record for saying we have plenty of cash to spend and we're looking to add quality. We already have a squad full of depth players, many of whom are miraculously starting.

If we consider the remainder in the cap as perpetual, we'll need to save at least some cash to upgrade juniors. So Pole and Galvin may take a chunk out of that.

As @balmain boy mentioned is a Balmain junior & Shannon Gallant has a charter to bring promising WT pathways players who left back to the club (i.e. Tom Fisher, Jaxson Rahme).

Makes sense to give him a train and trial. Is he a better prospect than Ngutlik? He's not as fast as Jimmy, but is all around more developed than him too.

He's had 4-5 god games throughout his career. He super erratic, he's lazy, slow, dumb. We should offload him in a heartbeat if we can. He's had his chance and proven that he's injury prone, error prone and unable to perform to a high standard in first grade. He wouldn't be top 17 at any club, he would be a train and trial at most clubs, or a no 30 contract, minimum wage experienced backup. For 2 more years at 350k it's awful value for us and we need to be ruthless and eliminate him.

This is true and in a perfect world we do offload him, but the cupboard is virtually bare in regards to decent or better NRL centres, especially ones that play on the right side.
The only half dec t NRL centre I can see available is Reimis Smith. I can’t say I’m really a fan of his, but he’s a big, tall body, faster than average and is a decent be Pugh defender.
Taking all that into consideration he is probably a player we should be looking at signing for 2025.

I honestly can't see how the club hasn't got Jimmy signed up for a couple years - Train and Trial at least....
Kid was making waves in the media as a part timer, Get him training full time and re-habbed properly and get him around the top squad....

The calibre of most of the development players we've signed up and have no room for this fella is stupidity....
I'd be buying him before the likes of Tumeth, Matamua, Cini, Hoffman and upteen other wasted development deals.

Definitely worth a look at, not many outside backs regularly making the metres he is.
The stats for his team mate and back rower Asher O’Donnell also look very good.
He is 21y.o and in his first season of Qld Cup, I ‘d say he would also be getting monitored by NRL clubs for a potential Train & Trial contract also.
On a wider note does anyone know the contract status of 18y.o Logan Spinks currently with the Bulldogs ?
A current NSW u/19’s rep he is the prototype tall rangy edge back rower and looks an exceptional prospect. When considering the Bulldogs have a log jam of edge back row talent in Kikau, Jacob Preston and the newly signed Sitili Tupouniua surely if he has a good manager he’d be suggesting he head elsewhere for better opportunity ?

I dont get what his point is here.
Coming last is an indication of how the entire club has fared during the year. If we revell in the praise of securing the title as he has done on 2 occasions, then we have to cop some shit for securing the spoon which he has also done twice.
Both matter.

What’s not to get ? He’s basically saying not wollow in your lowest points , as your lowest points and your highest highs are that rare in the grand scheme of things that don’t emphasise on them .
That’s the gist of what I took out of that attitude . That’s why he referenced “I’ve won as many spoons as I have premierships” .
I don’t think he’s dismissing the spoons , and the lessons that Need to be learnt and rectified , but rather they’re not something to hyper fixate on .

I have To'a in the mix for players to make available to other clubs along with Bateman, Naden & Sullivan. I rate Staines ahead of him as he brings versatility, effort, a good attitude & speed.

I reckon Richo had a subtle dig about him & a couple of others in a previous interview when he said he won't be letting players go to international duty if they have an injury. To'a was one who returned from internationals back into the rehab group.

You can sign as many players to contracts as you want. You can't register it with the NRL until you have the top 30 spots free. Dogs couldn't technically sign Kikau until almost 6 months after he actually signed. Easier to move players on in the offseason than mid way through the season and have players moping around angry all the time.
