There's so many layers to it. Poor coaching, poor fitness and just way too many players that aren't good enough for NRL. Our backlines this year have been disgraceful9x in a season mind you. Be hard pressed finding a worse record in any previous rugby league season.
love if we had better n he captained Reggies ,honestly do you think he made an adjustment , improved in the back half of this year,im not sure which game 15/16? he came back from suspension,n he was being a loose cannon at the time almost /did get sent off n we ,..lost because of him ,but since he came back its with controlled aggression.he started taking it serious this year newborn n all .anyways im a fan its bn good to see his improvement.he will improve as our team will but he will still b an unsung hero,2 someSeyfarth cannot be our starting backrower in 2025. I know some fans love him because 'he has a go' but none of the successful teams in the comp would accept his constant lack of discipline and errors. There have been way too many instances in the past two seasons where we have had the game in our hands and he single handedly gives the game away with a stupid penalty or error. He almost lost the Souths game a couple weeks ago with a error then stupid penalty straight after.
His defense is atrocious, he misses crucial tackles on the goal line and has terrible lateral movement. Every tackle attempt is with his arms and not his shoulders and the only reason his tackle % isnt lower is because they dont count complete misses and bad reads. He rushes out of the line and leaves our halves or inside man isolated to make one on one tackles close to the line.
Unfortunately, fans see him string two decent games together and think he is a decent first grader because of our lack of talent over the last 5 years. He has 5 good games a year to go with his 20 terrible games. We cannot be a top 8 team and accept that ratio.
He is a depth player and should be nothing more than that. If you think i'm being harsh that is fine, but at least go and watch the tapes of all the tries conceded in his proximity, errors and penalties he has given away in the last year. Better yet, even look at some of our players body language towards Seyfarth after these tries and you may start to see the frustration.
Potentially, it’s a bit hard to confirm.History even?
The players we had on the edge this year were not NRL capable and are being replaced.Edge defence is a massive issue, and everyone knows it.All are capable, but don't work as a cohesive unit
Cronk & Brandy said our incomings will improve our roster. It's obvious. The players we had on the edge this year were not NRL capable and are being replaced.

We'll be a better team next year....
I agree with you man.
We may not win the comp but we will do better.
Prediction for next year if Benji is still coach.
Hunt will still be a 20 minute player but Benji will play him for 35 minutes and he’ll miss tackles consistently like Stef did tonight.
His carries were fine and he didn't do anything particularly poor, but his energy in defence was lack luster, usually 3rd man in and ineffective. He was slow getting up off the line (if at all).
He would also run a decoy or support line and then just turn his back to play, I saw 2 occasions where Carrigan took a carry and Kobe was the support player, Carrigan promoted the offload and Kobe was already jogging away from him.
Can't judge him on one game, especially since he's already got one foot out the door, but he was bad last night.
Steph had 2x20 min stints and unfortunately made little effort to make a tackle or be in position in some instancesPrediction for next year if Benji is still coach.

If we are trotting out Seyfearth, Faataape, Mason and Feledy, in our side next year we are in trouble, maybe even Staines as well, there are a lot of reserve graders in our team, and one is the coach
Are they making the finals though?Prediction for next year if Benji is still coach.

The Forbes Ferrari getting out enthused to the ball by a nobody hooker sums him up. Myth.If we are trotting out Seyfearth, Faataape, Mason and Feledy, in our side next year we are in trouble, maybe even Staines as well, there are a lot of reserve graders in our team, and one is the coach
There is zero chance there will be that many changes.
Faataape, Mason, Sukkar, Feledy- shouldn't see 1st grade next year without improvements in their game & form demanding it.
Tupou & Utoikamanu are already gone. Papali'i is easily the one going to be missed most of the departing players, Bateman isn't coming back.
With Bird, Hunt, Skelton, Luia, Turuva & possibly/likely Horsburgh coming in, what I would HOPE is that:
Staines & Doueihi are considered depth players
Sione Fainu, Twal fight for a bench position with Johannssen
Latu Fainu, Da Silva, Galvin all play in the squad in some way all season.
A first team that looks like:
1. Bula
2. Turuva
3. Latu Fainu
4. Olam
5. Skelton
6. Galvin
7. Luai
13. Horsburgh
12. Seyfarth
11. Sam Fainu
10. Klemmer
9. Koroisau
8. Hunt
14. Da Silva
15. Pole
16. Bird
17. Twal
And allows Doueihi, Staines, Faataape, Sione Fainu, Johannssen, Porter to be KOE back-up depth is already stronger & more skilled.
I'd like 2 more KOE/1st grade fringe forwards added to give balance. I'd like more depth than Porter, Sione Fainu & Johannssen. Although- that could be where Fa'agutu, Kit Lualili'i etc fit.
What do you think? Are they making the finals though?
