Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

It's pretty serious. Driving while unlicensed and intoxicated resulting in serious injury. Wouldn't it be covered by the no faults stand down?
Irrespective of the level for no fault stand down
Ezra
Knowingly
drove while unlicensed ✅
Drove under the influence of drugs (allegedly) ✅
Caused substantial injury to innocent parties ✅
Ezra is the one at fault and should be under the microscope not going thru the PR tick the box of required excuses/actions to diminish any responsibility/punishment

And yes people make mistakes but hopefully they own up to them

Yep when Madge coached us.

I’m not sold on him.
Geez, hard to please. What are you not sold on? His unbelievable hole running, consistent workrake and defensive output, ability to make something out of nithing, week in week out high standard 80 minutes, plays right edge. Not sold on any of these? Nikora rivalled Crichton as the best backrower in the game last year. He was phenomal at times.

Can't see him coming after he knocked back overs a fee years back to come here. Always worth a try though, even if it just makes the Sharks pay more.

Maybe playing with Luai, Royce etc will get him across the line.

Maybe I need to watch more of him. Is a clutch defender?

So it's Nikora from the sharks we are looking to buy, like his energy and always seems to be in the right place and time to score try's or make a bust
Another Slender … no wonder we can’t bash our way out from our tryline .. we need a BEAST … besides Nikora will never leave the Shire, we got him a pay rise last time, learn from that!

smart negotiating to have Faataape and Porter locked in on development deals. both are solid second graders that will supplement the first grade side well if there's mass injuries.

thank goodness we're far less inclined to give development deals to undersized, inexperienced kids than we were 18 months ago.

Just some notes on our Development contracts for Mason, Craig, Lobb, Faataape, Porter & Makasini:

- I understand Development contracts are $80,000 base + $3k for each NRL game (cap of $650k).
- 5 backline players & 1 forward.
- All 6 development players only contracted to dev squad for 2025. Makasini promoted to top 30 in 2026. So 6 whole development spots up for grabs in 2026.
- Development players can play NRL from Round 1 whereas T&T only from Round 11.
- Still in limbo (too old for Flegg, not announced as T&T yet) are Bailey Hodges, Cayne Nicholas & Herman Tofaeono.

article from July 2023 indicates Will Craig is on a 'multi-year deal'.

knowing Sheens and McDonnell I reckon Craig's got a Top 30 clause in his contract for 2026/27.

Mason, Faatape, Porter and Makasini all would appear to be decent value on Development contracts, but Craig hasn’t done enough to show he’s anywhere near NRL ready as yet and Lobb hasn’t proven to be good enough either.
Surely another forward in replacement of either of those two wouldn’t go astray.
What contract do we have Tim Johanssen on for 2025 and does anyone know if we will have his brother Noah sticking around next season ?

Tim re-signed for 2 years according to the article the club released when we announced those 7 lower grade re-signings so my guess is he’s on a Cup contract. No idea about his brother though.

Gawd hopefully not, he did not show anywhere near enough in 2023 to warrant progression to top 30. Maybe multi-year was just referring to two years. Otherwise this becomes another contract for the 'hall of shame'.
