Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

We just paid the bloke half a million dollars to rehab his hammy. Club needs to hold players to account moving forward.
Not much you can do about bad luck, the human body breaks down.
Should these injuries become recurring and consistant, then you have a point.
That said, Latu is a kid and he has enormous potential. I wouldnt be talking in any way of shipping him on.

And of course you know everything about this game.

So Answer this one then
Mr Knowitall,

If Benji would have had all the players Trent Robinson had in 2024 where would our team finished in the comp.

CAREFUL.
All I know is under Benji, we were conceding 40-50 points every few weeks this year. I’m skeptical that that changes in 25.

You have every right to remain sceptical and Turuva is another woeful defender we have to put up with, but comparing 2024 to 2025 is like chalk and cheese.
It is half a new team and our emerging younger players should all be improved with the additional experience and with the benefit of some better and more experienced players to play alongside of.

New team, same coach.

You think he’s that bad ?
All he has to do to ensure the team makes a big improvement is keep the vast majority of the squad happy.
That is easier said than done as it’s hard to keep players missing out on the NRL 17 happy, but if he’s learnt anything from last season it should be to reward effort and performance to ensure every player has an even chance of earning their position in the NRL team if their form deserves it.
We cannot continue to have players such as Naden standing out in NSW Cup every week, but still being leap frogged for an NRL spot by others who have done nothing to earn it.
The other big one will be drilling into our players including Luai about a smart playing the percentages kicking game backed up by a quality kick chase and contesting as many high balls as possible.
Other than completing high, I don’t think it’s much benefit having too much of a game plan and restricting our off the cuff style of play.

Reckon someone should look into how many halves that are asked to play hooker/utility end up with hamstring problems, seems to be a recurring problem

If you think we are a big chance of top eight you have to find 9 rosters that are weaker than ours. That’s when it gets interesting, I see a couple of standouts that are below us, but I also see a lot of teams that are about our standard. Injuries suspensions and luck will play a big part.

Just to have a team that is competitive for change will do me and hopefully win more than they lose

How could I possibly know that?
My guess is they’d maybe limp into the 8.
Maybe.

No mention from me about shipping him, just glad they are expecting a return on investment from him.

It’s not always about rosters. It’s like saying team A should beat team B because they are stronger on paper. But it doesn’t always work out that way. Every year there are clubs that under achieve and over achieve. A lot of times weaker clubs punch above their weight and play with real heart. We’ve rarely ever been one of those clubs. Our roster is solid, but the coaching is where I feel we will be let down.

My guess is when the senior Roosters players indicate maybe he's a bit out of his depth,
He doesn't get his panties in a bunch and have them Shipped off overseas,
Or to another club (No matter the cost)

Our roster was not solid.

Solid does not describe what Justin left behind.

Diarrhea is more solid.
