Objectively that would be about where this squad should finish, anywhere from 6th-12th.

As others have said though, so much of an assessment of a season is subjective - played strong and aggressive and were unlucky in a couple of very close games or had some outstanding wins but got lazy, blew games because of poor defense and attitude, lost to teams they should beat etc. can look very similar on the table but subjectively be very different when assessing success.

It is still a squad with problems, but a 9th place finish with a clear "corner turned" in regards to the general attitude and stupidity of the team, improvements from the young players and leadership from Luai is a pass mark for me. That is a blueprint for more sustained success. 2026 its finals or fail

Agree totally, only issue is going to be how long it takes Luai and Galvin to gel. Once that happens and they are consistently on the same page, our halves should be top 3 in the comp when fit.

I feel we will compete way better than last 10 years but we still need to move on players and grab 1 or 2 more good quality players and blend the young guys in over next couple years .

Sullivan , Tumeth , Naden , AD , Matta , this would be over $ 1.2 million in pay that we could transform into
2 x $ 350 k / $ 400 k players then blend the others over a bit of time , Galvin will need $$$$ to stay so there is at least $ 250 towards his increase , other will come to the club for reserve grade cheaper once we start winning , we are poking along ok but in 12 months I feel the team will have more new faces in both first grade and reserve grade .
Bateman , if Bennett wants him tells me he still has it and him and Benji just need to sit down sort it out ,Coach to hold no grudges and if Bateman Is playing better than Seyfarth or Bird etc he gets the start , it should be about out TEAM winning not about egos

If we extend him, he'll surely be getting $500k upgrade for each of the next two seasons. If he's willing to forego an extra million dollars, he already has plan to go elsewhere.

Yep not sure what he is on but let’s say $ 350 , upgrade now to $ 800 that’s like you say near a million , if he doesn’t I honk he could be playing the games , with Dogs or other coming in with $ 1 mill per season and winning the comp , team needs to be winning games to help keep him and the dogs , Rorters , Panthers need to be beaten in the first round

I'll pose an interesting question...is Richo setting things up for a more palatable sacking of Benji? Now hear me out.

When JAC got done and Gould came out so publicly backing him, I said straight away Gould was setting it up so he could sack him and have no backlash. He deliberately made himself look like a fool by backing JAC so when the truth came out everyone would say "he has to sack him". So it got me thinking, is Richo talking up our spine so the possible sacking of Benji if we fail to get results, will be more acceptable to the media and fans? Now I'm much less confident that this is what's happening as I was with the Gould and JAC situation, but it did make me think. Of course Richo wants Benji to succeed, but maybe he is setting up the backup plan.

Just on Taylan May, his bro Terrell is desperate to play alongside him at the Tigers! It’s exactly the body language I got when I spoke to him! I’d be shocked if Richo actually didn’t want him!
We need real competitors and these brothers are exactly that! Anyone who’s seen Taylan May in person, knows he’s built like a granite block! Absolute unit, and one of the hardest blokes in the entire NRL to tackle. I really see him joining Luai and Turuva as a left centre for us! Our backline would be absolutely deadly 🔥🔥🔥🫡

Aren't Sully and Naden diggin their heels in? I expect if they can offload their contracts we would be delighted, but if we need spots freed up for somone that falls from the tree I expect Tumeth and Sukkar would be the sacrificial lambs.
