I’d like the club to disclose it. Supporters have a right to know. Especially if they want supporters to pony up for memberships. Aren’t you tired of reading how we have signed “player X” for X amount of years only to find 2 years later “hey, about that contract. Yeah, there’s actually a clause that says the guy can leave that we didn’t tell you about”. Just an FYI, Bula also has a clause, even though the club touts him being till the end of 27.

It’s just like the brown stuff now , Moses has the sms clauses as well .
The tv deal I heard has the potential to increase revenue by as much as 50 %. As the salary cap is proportional to that , that’s a potential 5 mil increase .
As luai occupies 9% right now , that’s like a 600k pay bump.
My guess is probably any franchise player negotiating contracts moving forward into expansion into 20 teams , and the inevitable splitting up of the rights deals with multiple media companies , that these types of contracts will be how it is .
LeBron james has beeen negotiating his contracts around the rights deals for 20 years . It’s inevitable for these types of deals to be heading our way .
I’m not sure what his latest contract is , but there definitely was a period of time when he was at Cleveland where he was 1 year at a time , to put immense pressure on the club .
I do t th8nk it’s a ploy to get Luai out if his deal , but a way to heap pressure on the club to constantly be progressive , and aggressive in the marketplace .
It’s probably a good thing for a club notorious for a near enough is good enough approach . To be honest , the same reputation the Cleveland cavaliers had for years before LeBron .

So your issue is with the club not notifying you? I don't think supporters have the right to know the inner workings of a contract right away. The pertinent points will come out in due time, in this case a couple of months after he has signed.

Not gunna lie it puts a sour taste in the mouth, if it was all about the tv deal a simple ratchet clause would fix that. All this after the Stef clause, if you knew this about Luai why would you be so vocal around no more clauses makes us look stupid and incompetent.
