Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

My guess is this one is from the club although Moses manages both players but that means it's made clear that Moses is better off Bateman moving on as he will still get the % of that same Tigers money through Galvin so the less the Tigers pay to Bateman the more Moses makes overall
Actually that’s an interesting angle. In this instance it might work in our favour with Moses having both players in his stable and help get a Bateman move done. Any money saved can then form part of Moses’s commission if we extend and upgrade Galvin. So Moses might not be as red hot to screw the Tigers on paying more of Batemans salary elsewhere as it might lower his next commission.

This is all assuming he is happy for his client Galvin to extend with us and not angling for him to end up elsewhere.

No, that's not how player options work. The player will have until a specific date/round in which they can opt out for the next season. Generally it is Round 10 by the season before.

So for example, if Luai played the 2025 and 2026 wanted to opt out for the 2027 season, he would have from the start of the season until round 10 of the 2026 season to formally opt out for the 2027 season and beyond. Once round 10 of the 2026 season passes, he can no longer opt out for the 2027 season.
But he can opt out of an upcoming season. So if he stays in 27, he can still opt out of 28 if he wants.

Can he ? I mean know one here has any idea how his specific clauses work - mayby he takes up the options for the 3 yrs, mayby he will take up 1 at a time, mayby it has specifics about timings, who knows and honestly at this stage who cares.

Also look how well the Stef clauses played out for us - replaced him a year early and spent his money on May and Hunt so upgraded our squad

If we havent got this mess sorted by 2027 we deserve whatever comes our way..
Tho someone cld have said this in 2017
But seriously, weve learnt a lot of lessons since then..and Richo changes everything
The most important lesson is in Moses we DONT trust....he has no values or ethics, and we dont wanna get too entangled with him

We always seem to have a great white hope. If we are in such a perilous position that Luai leaves after two years, there’s no hope for this club.

Jock Madden is set to be the unlucky player squeezed out by Ben Hunt’s arrival in Brisbane with the half granted permission to talk with rival clubs.
The Broncos salary cap is starting to bite given Hunt’s $600,000 two year deal and the money they have now invested in the halves.

A host of clubs in the NRL have been asked if they would be interested in Madden’s services in recent days while the Super League could also be an attraction for Madden.

Madden has been a reliable first grader since the 24-year-old made his debut under new Broncos coach Michael Maguire at the Tigers.

He joined the Broncos last year and has played 15 top grade games for the club.

Madden inked a contract extension with the Broncos last year.

Agents make money through commission, I guess there’s a chance the higher the contract the higher the commission but more importantly would be the amount of deals they do the better the commission.
Win win for Moses, move Bateman on to Souths, new deal new commission; urge WT to use the remaining contract money to upgrade Galvin, new deal new commission.
Then there’s Bula, renegotiate Bula’s contract to remove the final season clause; new contract new commission. Moses is set to profit big time off the Tigers this off season.

Shocking defender . A huge reason for the broncos going backwards last year. I must have watched 5 games last year , where teams just ran it at him all game for amazing success .
I had the same criticism when he was here . He might be a good to decent game manager , but he will never get a game if he didn’t fix his defence.

It is total BS from ignorant people who barely watch full games!

The club's GPS tracking alone proves them wrong with the metreage and high intensity efforts that Bula makes both on and off the ball throughout every 80 minutes!
Actually, I watch every game. Statistics can be interpreted any way you like.

I will suggest the reason Bula gets so many runs is because opposition teams mostly kick to him because they want him returning the ball on play 1. Because he is lithe he often gets pushed back in contact and it sets our opposition up very well for their defensive set a poorly sets up our attacking set.

Upon reflection, I shouldn’t have said I would be “happy” if Bula left. I should have said I’d be “indifferent” if he left. I believe you could replace his output with a player costing significantly less than what we are paying Bula.

Anyway, I hope he grows and succeeds with our club given the importance of the fullback position in today’s game.

Think that 600 x 2 is rubbery, 4 mths from being released by St G until new contract registered ?/ Hunt is unpaid, .Throw in the average of his St g contract n all other registered quotes from legally bidding teams probably explains the 600 g,and from the info ive read a retiring players contract/ Hunt 2026 is off the cap that year due to player welfare, transgression payout to assimilate back amongst the plebs, a k a working at the Bronco's.

I think some of the criticisms come from the fact that he doesn’t loiter around the ruck .
Also back up the very next play after being involved on the other side of the field
