Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I don’t know Hopoate had his finger in a lot of positions 🤔👉🏻
I think he had to much fluoride toothpaste and drinking water it's finally been confirmed that it lowers IQ and alot of other bad things to you but doesn't help your teeth

Albert Hopoate has ruled himself out of Vegas with his wife due to give birth. Imagine being that kid. Hoppa Sr as your grandfather.

Hi @Rock Hopper Steve - take this in jest mate. I’ve enjoy your posts - and we started the air conditioning thread war 😂 - I feel like you have been here a while but don’t remember the call sign as I have been here on and off for a long time.

Every time I see you username I think of being 20 by a pool with some close mates with some ladies around, wearing black sunnies and less body fat and someone called me ‘Rock Spider’ 😂 I had no idea what the connotation was till much later.

Curious where does Rock Hopper come from?

Anyway I think of that term in a funny way and hope the woke crowd don’t jump on me (like a spider …) - maybe I’ll say RHS 😉 - just banter before the season 👍

I just thought it was to do with fishing from rocks?

Pretty sure years ago I read more people die from that than any other sport. Could be wrong....

I was wrong. Still daredevil shit to me though.

Rock hopper is a term used to describe a rock fisherman probably because some like to move from and test more than one spot until they are happy with their choice, also when a wave arrives you may have to move quickly hence jump from rock to rock quickly to avoid trouble, if you are smart, I would not use your highlighted words on here again unless you want to receive backlash.

A love it RHS. I did some rock fishing as a kid in Jervis Bay before safety was a big issue. You must be quick on your feet and have some big b##ls/guts (especially with no air con 😉). I like fishing up north for a barra when I can (when it’s real hot …), just have to watch for crocs.

I posted that in context in jest and mods can delete if they want.

I have received my fair amount of backlash on here since 2009 mate. Just older and wiser these days - well for me anyway who gets dopamine by poking the bear 😂 cheers 👍

The experienced guys don't usually get into trouble, most of the time it is new Australians that end up in the drink and some of them don't know how to swim you need an understanding of the ocean and only go fishing in the right conditions, I have enjoyed it for 30 years in that time I have been knocked over twice both times when I landed a good fish, scraped a knee lesson learnt.

That's cool. There's a lot of things that look insane, but not if you know what you're doing.

It’s just another coaching staff member with no coaching resume.
Wait

Greg Ingles. The NRL player who played and won so many SOO for Queensland and several times for the Australian team. Who lived the Melbourne Storm culture. ...

I don't know if this guy can coach, but Far out the guy is dripping with elite NRL experience. Unlike say Hodgson or Morris, who both are NRL players with some merit. Ingles is at the top of the NRL elite. Easily in the top 5 of the best NRL players of the last 2 decades.

You can't get that kind of experience.

Sure we can pull another NRL coach of the ranks, someone like Siebold who played 2ish seasons and sounds good in an interview.... But you can't easily get top player experience and you sure as hell can't get Immortal in waiting NRL experience.

Bring Ingles in, try him out. If he can coach some of what he played on the field, like Far out we would be going to the finals.

(and if he can't meh. We would have hired some assistant looser anyway).

For starters it’s Inglis … and apart from his career he’s also been in trouble more than once.
He may have a reputation as a player … but not as a person or a coach.

Hope GI turns out to be very beneficial to our club, but being a x elite player doesn’t translate automatically into having the ability to coach. GI was one of those naturally gifted footballers who probably did most things by instinct that he was gifted from a early age. Also GI always came across as a slightly introverted person.

Anyway time will tell, he might end up doing a great job and obviously Richo knows him well from the Rabbit days and has faith in his ability.
