Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Rumour we are going to Vegas next year
No Way. Not with Richo as CEO. He hates the idea.

V'landis is a very shrewd operator. Las Vegas games do very little of what's they're ostensibly 'supposed' to accomplish, (generate overseas revenue and grow the game in USA), which Richo has pointed out multiple times.

The real reason, is that you get a month of free wall to wall PR from all the Australian media outlets as a result. It's the same as projecting ad's on to the Opera House for horseracing. It's not about the projection but the 300 free articles including photos and the media attention.

He's a bit too gambling sleazy for me, but he is very, very, very clever. But yes I'd be very surprised to see a WT side run out in las vegas. However, if It DID happen, I would be there ASAP.

Where?
Send a link please.

“I was pretty disappointed it wasn’t shut down earlier by the club. Benji came out four months later to say we never had an argument, but that could have been shut down a lot earlier."

Then he digs up LB and paints us as a place no one wants to go too. I recall earlier articles but haven't found them.... Ok hope I did not read too much tripe.

TLDR, Bateman really is bagging us and this is from someone who the club allowed a lot of overseas visits, trips and allowances.

I hope we never go ill save 20k easy.

Looks like six charges
or 6 hearings....

One is an AVO, which doesn't say much in itself.

That said, stuff the courts to a point. I want to know if what he did is in line with our club and our values!

If they are not what the WT believes in, then is Taylan coming here to change and turn right? OR is he just taking the next contract?

Right attitude and he clears court, hire him. Wrong attitude, let him go.

No.
At this stage we could end up with both.
If we get Spencer, we’ll have a team Gal might wanna stay at. Throw in the other May and it gets better.
We’re still going to need to pay Galvin massive money, look at what clubs have offered Dylan Brown.

Guys like him, Makasini, Da Silva will all need big upgrades next year or the year after.

Have to be careful with how many 700k+ front rowers we pay for considering we have a 7 on huge money and gaps to fill at second row, lock and centres.

What a TEAM this would be! Very very likely as well this year:

1. Bula
2. Turuva
3. Taylan
4. AD
5. Skelton
6. Galvin
7. Luai
8. Spencer
9. Api
10. T May
11. Sam Fainu
12. Seyfarth
13. Bird
14. Latu
15. Hunt
16. Pole
17. Sione Fainu / Twal
I think twal would start . Sione would drop off .
That bench punch of Spencer and hunt would literally break teams mentally and physically. You’ve just got through the supposed “tough first 20-30” the softening up period , only to be met with those 2 mad bastards coming at you .

This isn’t the smoking gun you think it is.
The fact is he didn’t run Benji down at all until he mentioned the above in a recent article. Despite that, rumours have been around for 5-6 months that he has been having a crack at him.
Didn’t happen. Not publicly.

TDS has a long way to go before we throw bigger money at him could be longer than what you forecast, Makasini has just been extended and upgraded the wraps on him are huge but has done nothing yet will be at least 2/3 before you would talk more money for him unless he turns out to be an absolute gun.

Desperation overrides values…that’s WT for you

Bit of a stretch to suggest things we're not 'shut down earlier' It got a lot of coverage and the situation was made pretty clear by the CEO and the Coach a bunch of times. Crocodile Roll. He wasn't here to fight to the death, so we moved him on.

couple of things a few weeks back the forum had whispers of spencer leniu coming to the club

have heard some louder whispers today

if taylan may gets his case dropped he will be a tiger on march 11th
There would be absolutely no way the roosters would let spencer go. Especially without anyone to replace him. Can't see it happening.

Old people like you have ruined the planet. Your kind should be shipped off to an island exile so younger people can undo the damage you've done.
Man I hate you old farts.
Entitled,eh? 🤣🤣🤣
Young people now seem to worry about Instagram and Tik Tok more than being out enjoying life and creating a future for themselves.
Every generation until the current one built on what came before them … many in this generation just whine and offer nothing .
Instead of blaming the people before you it might be a good idea to improve the standard of living … once again like previous generations did.
Sure it’s tough… it always has been

Bingo.

Loosing Stef, Paps, Klem and Bateman and just saying we have:

May + Hunt to replace them is a joke.

Look I get it, were coming 17th and we need changes.
but those 4 players had some output and significant output at that. Loosing 2, we would be upgrading. Loosing 3 were kinda breaking even.... Loosing all 4, it's really going to weaken us for awhile and I was hoping Luai would start with success....

It also means we may panic sign, bring someone in who we may not exactly want long term just to cover the gap. Was really hoping we were past this.
The four players that you have mentioned contributed nada in 2024, they were dogshit. Royce and May will replace their efforts in two games this season. Luai has a good pack behind him here and some terrific spine players around him, for once I see no panic buys, even Bird will provide experience and mongrel.

It’s always a balance.

AD, Feledy, Klemmer (650k but say it’s going to Spencer if he comes), Matamua, Naden? (I’d keep him around but lower if from 300k), Olam and Tumeth all gone. Lots of cap space opens and always some moving cogs around the club with 11 players leaving last year
