Canterbury obviously saw Sexton as a good bridge halfback until they got an upgrade. That’s what we should be thinking with Latu still very young.

I still thing latu deserves a chance if he stays injury free before we move him maybe 30 games like Galvin.

I hope he stakes his claim in the next two months but I’d still sign Sexton as an experienced guy and have a halfback spot up for grabs for the form player. I see the value in a young player having to earn his jersey.

What’s the rush to pay Sexton $500k plus…maybe $600k ? It’s not like guys of his ability only come along once a year …

See how Latu goes the rest of the season… move Bud on ( if you can) and reassess at the end of the season…

I think Sexton is a proven performer in first grade who would complement Luai well. I haven’t seen enough of Latu to trust him yet.

It would be a 2 year deal and he’d have to be willing to enter a competition for the jersey.

Compliment him by putting him in NSW Cup? ( sorry …thought you were talking about Latu)

Feels like a halfback is going to get left out in the current merry go round. You pay them around 450-500 (you might get them cheap because they’re clubless and pommy land calls) to compete for the jersey with Latu, we were going to give Galvin double that.

He’ll have the Titans chasing him as well…minimum $550k…

They will be paying more than $1.5m for Bud, Sexton and Latu… two of whom to be in Reserve grade …

The best solution to our problems at lock would to be to recruit an actual ball playing lock and not turn one of the most talented ball playing halves the tigers have had in a long time into a forward weakening two positions, it makes no sense.

For those that bleet on about Latu's injuries have look at Metcalf at the warriors or Blore at the storm ..... Sometimes players just have a run of injuries and that is all it is full stop.

Not like we are overflowing with talent in or top 30 or have a line up of it at Concord, yet so many on here want to throw away the good players we have or change the position they are strong in for no good reason ..... I mean while we are at it why don't we turn Bulla Into a prop and then recruit Walsh to play fullback....

Quite concerning if it's true that the push for Latu to 13 is coming from Benji. We brought him here as a half & due to injuries, haven't really seen him & Luai together for any significant time. I'm not against it if we can secure a traditional game managing 7, but really think Benji's priority should be adding much more fire-power to our pack.

I thought Luai was pushing for Latu as the 7?

Anyone else feel Galvin didn’t look to happy playing second fiddle to Sexton today. I noticed a few times Galvin expecting the ball and it went to Sexton.
