Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Are we going to prioritise Sexton over Latu in the halves? If not, does Sexton know he is coming here to play reserve grade ? Might be better off at the Dogs doing that,,
The 2 players we should target to land 1 as backup half is Jonah Glover & Jock Madden. Being 1st drop for us is much better than their current positions & both can goal kick too. Glover has a higher ceiling but Madden has experience. No one else I could see come to us to be back-up when they can be back-up at their current club (i.e Schneider).

It's been the same message for Leichardt. It's not like Campbelltown or Parramatta is local for inner West fans where there are plenty. Richardson wants to play out of a stadium to attract sponsors and there is only two at the moment that fit that criteria and neither of them are in the localities of our targeted supporter base.
I live in Ashfield - which is where the owners of Wests Tigers are based and 2km from Concord Oval where Wests Tigers are based and I think really the heartland of Wests Tigers given that.

The issue for Campbelltown is that it is from here the furthest away ground in Sydney - Penrith, Shark Park, Brookvale all close to me then Campbelltown

As for what grounds are closest
1. Leichardt Oval - 9 mins, 4km
2. Accor Stadium - 17 mins, 8.4km
3. SFS - 20 mins, 13km
4. Commbank - 21 mins, 16km
5. Kograh stadium - 24 mins, 18km
6. Brookvale - 36 mins, 25km
7. Shark Park - 36 mins, 26km
8. Penrith- 40km, 47km
9. Campbelltown - 41 mins, 53km

Although noting North Sydney Oval at 18 mins, 13km would sit in 3rd closest to Ashfield. Henson Park - 10 mins, 5km is closest and Belmore at 19 mins would be just behind North Sydney in 3rd from here.

The advantage that inner city grounds have over Campbelltown are
1. Population density is much higher and due to increase - most people who go to grounds live near them - the more who live closer the more you get
2. Away fans - much more likely to attend closer games increasing income
3. Sponsors - Most corporate money is closer to more central areas even if they want to appeal to people on the edges but also better stadiums have better corporate facilities.

I also think if we look at quality of stadium for attendance - Allaince and Commank are the clear winners facility wise.

Campbelltown is a long term play to have your own area so I in no way suggest abandoning the area but that doesent mean you play 8 games at a rundown stadium way out west - their are other ways.

I personally always wanted them to build a commbank like stadium at Olympic Park and still think that's the best option for us, dogs, souths but given commbank it's unlikely to ever happen.

If we can't get money for Campbelltown then we need to maintain a split sadly between Leichardt - 2, Campbelltown -2 and Accor or Commbank for the rest

So TDS has a contract for 2026 so it's smart by the club to see what falls out of the tree & potential clubs for next year.

Knights - KPP right now & who for next year?

Cowboys - Duffy as halves depth... Maybe?

Manly - I'd like Bullemor but don't want another Moses client.

Eels - I'd want Hopgood, they have Walker & the likes of Moretti & Samarani coming through.

Interesting. Hopefully we get a better result than Galvin. Tartak has too much invested in the club I don't he plays the same games.

Francis Manuleleua and Jermaine McEwan are two likely second row prospects from the Knights. They have been playing NRL due to injuries.

He’s an absolute weapon now. Every run , he reps at the advantage line and pushes through contact to get extra metres.
I don’t want to hype him up , nd he’ll start that narrative , but man, he is on his way to elite .
I’ll hype Sione up! I mentioned last year that he will be the best of the Fainu brothers and I was laughed off the Forum … 😂 eat my dust,
Sione is a wrecking ball and just what we need to complement Terrell May in the Front row!
Time for an upgraded extension.

we did look at Duffy but not sure it’s worth losing depth in the 9 role just to have a back up half now if you get what i mean .
unless it’s a strong swap I don’t see the point and rather have tallyn until the end of his contract .

Bulldogs have him in the bag

Dropped the ball to concede a try. Gave away a penalty in WT territory when the team was in possession.

He's a been a great addition, but he made crucial errors v Canberra which didn't help the team's cause. I'd drop him for the week and bring in Tu'itupou or Staines who have been playing very well in reserve grade. There needs to be some accountability here.

He's not the only one. I'd be dropping Doueihi, Twal and Seyfarth too. But there's little accountability at this club.
Doueihi is only in the side for goal kicking.

it’s actually one of our best development stories to come from this club in recent times . Hasler really hurt Sione’s development early , came to us and struggled for 18 months in cup was overweight but you could see there was an NRL player in there somewhere . Has come along brilliantly now. manly lacked patience with all the fainu’s and it’s coming back to bite now .

For me it makes sense. Canberra isn’t that far once on the Hume.

Older head and has the relationship with the Samoan boys.

Agree.
Plus he is still performing at a NRL starter level.
He will give 30-40mins of quality.

With May, Pole, Fainu and Twal he could be used as an impact style prop and old head off the bench but also let May play less minutes to be more effective.
