Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Manly apparently... They would have a fair chunk of change from DCE. He was on $1M plus. Fogarty on $750K apparently. TDS probably got close to his $600K. Be interesting was comes out post tomorrow.

After hearing Benji in his presser, this is how I feel it is playing out …

-Club happy to release TDS from 2026 given his salary is a reported $400k.

-Plan for Api to be #1 hooker until the end of 2028 with a transition to Jared Haywood.

-Part of TDS salary savings in ‘26 to frontload Api.

-Club would also sign a fulltime hooker into top 30 in ‘26, probably Tristan Hope on say $200k.

-Club would develop Heath Mason’s dummyhalf skills in pre-season to become our #14 and provide cover for Api.

-Club also sign Charlie Murray to a top 30 deal on $200k as purely a lock backup in NSW Cup who can also play dummyhalf.

-Chance that Josese Lanyon lands a dev or T&T contract so provides another dummyhalf option.
This would be a disaster for the club. Hope and Murray shouldn't be anywhere near the top 30

We ain't trending towards a finals run anyway.

Get the reps in and move to improve the 30.
Hopefully we can do better next year.

2025 another year of dramas and nonsense.
Weed out the goofs who don't want to be here.
Continue to build a culture and a tight knit playing group.

The struggle continues.
Thats all this club does. Hope . More spoons.

So just keep doing what we've been doing for the past decade?

That's a no from me

no players being talked about in return
think the club will look to sign an experienced 9 next year (jayden berrell

no one
Well if so, that's an absolutely unacceptable failure from the club. There is literally, not a single other club in the comp who just gives away highly sought after, under contract juniors, for nothing.
Either we leverage our position of power to fill one of the many roster spots we have, or we don't let him go.

Is this for 2026 or immediate?

Imagine being a top tier member platinum or whatever BS they call it....$1K+ and we see this unacceptable shit from the club not once but twice resulting in what was a bit of hope early very quickly diminishing.
Club needs to be accountable and explain wtf theyre doing...totally unacceptable

serious question . Do either manly or the eels have a recruitment officer who understands there’s another 15 clubs and regions in the nrl . Especially manly . Literally thier squad has like half of it being from the wests tigers region .
Then I read some stupid article the other day where the dum dum who wrote it was talking about manly pathways ….. you mean wests tigers ….

that’s isaac moses for you

Jayden Berrell isn't a bad player to have in the squad. High effort players to bring in when injury hits is a good idea.

I like Lachlan Ilias as an addition as well- even just as our back-up half option. Offers experience & versatility.

We really lack 1-2 impact players (assuming Taylan May is signed into next season).

David Fifita is still the guy I want most as our #13 next season. About the only player available that can dominate on the field.

I'd still take Sloan if the money was right. At worst, he competes with Skelton for a wing position. Automatically backs up Bula. He's got that natural athletic ability along with his speed. 23, so entering his best years & already 70 games under his belt. Just has to be on the right kind of money- you don't break the bank on him.

I've already suggested Freddy Lussick, who I think would be an incredible option at #14 for us if TDS is off.

Fifita, Sloan, Lussick, Ilias... Jaiyden Hunt. You can add that prop from the Bulldogs Maiu'u for his athletic ability too.

KPP & Taylan May

Makasini comes into the mix at some point.
