They were desperate times,and he made short term decisions which had long term consequences...and he knew he wldnt be around to manage them.
Disappointing
But nobody doubts his coaching credentials!!

People have a tendency to forget who brought the coaches in at first instance.

Richo has tied himself to Benji which I think was unnecessary and unwise.

Not just his evident lack of coaching ability, but professionally, he’s supposed to be his boss, not his mate.

Richo needs to do a lot better.

I hate to say it but this regime is beginning to remind me of the last dumpster fire.

Hopefully Taylan can do his bit to save the crockery.

Cleary is in a different category to septegarian Sheens and myopic Madge..and got a truly ordinary roster into 9th at the time
Bellamy cld do even better with our current roster
But thats my point..a succession of crap coaches who cldnt realise the potential from our roster,which whilst not top drawer,is certainly not terrible and never has been
Our coaches cant improve players,nor develop cohesion and teamwork,nor design tactics for opposition weaknesses

No Im ok because I still want the side to win every single game it competes in. That’s non negotiable.

If Benji learns to coach and proves me wrong fine, but it’s unlikely.

Plus I’m tired of successive admins screwing us over.

Benji is playing Taylan as early as possible and I agree with him there.

That's it though isn't it Bellamy would never coach at this club - and I can guarantee that he would be honest about his limitations here.
Ciraldo had the job handed to him on a platter and turned it down only to accept a job at the Bulldogs.
Maguire appears to have done alright with all his positions since leaving WTs yet it was predicted he would never get a coaching job again.
It is way more than simply a coaching issue.

Obviously the bickering and bitching in the boardroom over the years , those that could never accept the merge and that is still happening

Apparently there are coaches in the Super League that want a start. You make some very good points and I would love nothing more to see Benji do well. The problem is we don't seem to be improving much at all some say were going backwards and that's a concern. I just don't know how much longer he will persist. Watching him on the sidelines ride every play shows the pressure he's feeling. I just don't think he cam afford another spoon the media alone will make things pretty difficult. Remember most people were saying we would make the 8 and were very confident abt it.
Fk something needs to change.

Madge took us backwards every year … he got us to last and they cut bait …Andrew Webster took a terrible team from 15th to 4th in his 1st year…it was the coach that time

A common misconception is Madge got us to last.

It’s correct that we were going backwards but we didn’t spiral from 13th to last until Sheens threw Kimmorley under the bus.

This place makes everyone worse, coaches included.

I didn't conveniently omit anything, I said coaches that couldn't coach so we sacked them. Cleary wasn't sacked, he saw what the joint was like and ran. To suggest our issues lie with the coaches is naieve. No coach of any value will step foot near the joint, they know the joint is the problem. We couldn't even get a rookie Ciraldo to come across. Now we've changed the boardroom structure so hopefully that will start to help the club make better decisions in the future, were still massively underfunded and owned by drama loving clowns. To suggest the coaches are the problem when there have been multiple coaches come and go is borderline insanity.

I think the key would be finding key assistant coaches with really good structures (like what Ciraldo brought to Penrith). Let Benji be the man manager and signing attractor.

Madman I agree. If we get the spoon he's gone, imo he has to. Blaming 12 years of failure on the coaches, I'm not buying it, sure no doubt some were better than others. The club has a massive problem. We couldn't even convince a rookie coach to join. Hopefully now with the new boardroom things start improving, iv got no doubt if we get rid of Benji, in three years we're back here talking about getting rid of the new one. It's what we do as a club and have done since Sheens first stint ended.

It's an issue, I agree with you totally, though can't see Benji agreeing to it if he feels he's got to keep looking over his shoulder.

Wasn’t the team already last when he got flicked in his last year ? They only won 4 games ( 2022) so he must have been canned very early otherwise…

His first three full years were 9th, 11, 13th…

And people wonder why he got canned … what coach in any sport is surviving that run ?

What's your theory Tom, all these coaches yet the same failure, what do you personally put it down to?
