Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I think we just sit tight & wait & see what the off season holds.

Richo & Gallant seem to be all over the situation.

We have added depth when it has been lacking. They would be aware our middle is the next area to complete the team.

We need a stop gap because our middles coming through the juniors are promising.

It's been nothing but good news & good business lately. Even the whole "Khod" saga blew over with little to no comment from the club or players.

I think the next group of players to join the club has to be hard heads good trainers who have played at top 8 clubs

I was looking that Corey Jensen still doesn't have a contract for next year would be a great pickup

Yeah Leo Thompson has really dropped his form hasn’t he.
He’s already got his over the fence. The knights will get nothing out of him for the rest of the year. Watch his form return next year.
This is another reason why we need transfer windows and a shorter time frame from when you can sign. This signing from November the year before is hurting the game. It’s human nature to be thinking about greener pastures as soon as the chips are down and it ruins a teams and a players year most times.

We also see plenty of times where the players sign early and use it as leverage to get released early ..

It’s up to the players agree to change the rule …and most people think that’s not happening …I’ve heard Clint Newton a couple of times say so

Whose game is this, certainly not for the fans anymore. It seems a shonk haven at the moment, with the most unscrupulous rising to the top.

Well that might be a little over the top, but I think you know what I mean.

I don’t mind Talakai to replace Bird as a #15, think we are finally in a position where we can replace like for like as top teams work in this fashion (correct me if I’m wrong).
Happy to give Royce another year if he can get fit enough plus we should now see Big Red and Twal in the prop rotation.
In saying that there is always room for another big bopper
I can’t see where people say he is unfit , whenever I have watched the sharks he always puts in a good shift, his defence is good and he hits the line well

Feels like rinse and repeat
If he does well...hes probably off elsewhere
I wonder whether we shld give Moses managed players a unique deal where we ratchet up the $$$ each year...but with a club option to proceed
Otherwise were wasting our time developing these kids for someone else
Bula will be the litmus test..has a ridiculously attractive option going forward...if he moves on.it will be 6 times bitten 7 times shy

Three players I thought may have been on our radar look to be going to other clubs.

SOUTHS STAR SET FOR SUPER LEAGUE SWITCH

Experienced South Sydney forward Siliva Havili is on the verge of joining Super League club St Helens next year.

The 32-year-old is off-contract at the end of the season and is expected to be squeezed out of the Rabbitohs following their mid-season signing of Brandon Smith.

Havili has bounced around a few clubs since making his debut for the Warriors in 2014. The Tongan represented also played for the Dragons and Raiders before finding a home at South Sydney in 2022.

PANTHERS TARGET WAHS STAR

The Panthers are set to add some depth to their forward pack by securing Warriors’ Tom Ale.

Ale hasn’t played in the NRL this season for New Zealand but before that the 26-year-old featured in 42 games since making his debut in 2020.

This season he has been relegated to NSW Cup. Penrith’s move comes after back-rower Kayliss Fatialofa used the 10-day cooling off period to backflip on the Panthers to remain with the Warriors.

SHARKS CENTRE REJECTS DRAGONS APPROACH

Outside back Mawene Hiroti rejected a late approach from St George Illawarra to remain with Cronulla. The 26-year-old – who made his NRL debut as a teenager for South Sydney in 2018 – has recommitted to the Sharks for next season. Hiroti has been an important squad member at Cronulla since joining the club in 2020.

Dam i've been calling for Tom Ale for ages. Coulda woulda shoulda.

I feel like that’s not a sustainable long term plan . One will eventually have to be groomed to move to right . But I think you’re right , Makasini will probably start on the wing .
Not sure we need to worry about the long term positions right now. We just fit them it where it makes sense for the club.

Learnt this from the Latu vs Galvin and Api vs TDS situations.
