Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

November 11th…no signings?! 👀

Yeah disappointing, we are desperate for a high level forward, still hoping.

We are banking on our players going to the next level.......which they could do.

Pole, Fainu brothers, KPP have the attributes to get to another level. Maybe Seyfarth, Sukkar and Hope.

We need one top class forward and we’ll be playing finals. I really hope we get nas. If he plays half the games but is the difference in 2-3 games to last year, and we don’t repeat Lachie gate, we’ll be finals bound.
Without that extra forward I think it will be same same maybe a spot or two up if the team sticks together, but that’s it

It certainly wouldn't hurt, as a top class forward lifts any club. Still, solidifying our right edge alone with KPP changes the 2026 dynamic a lot on its own, and should get us properly into finals contention if he and Samuela can stay on the field.

That’s a good point but I think we’ll be marginal and need things to go right, whereas adding a top class forward should
Seal the deal and it will seriously
Mean competition for
Spots

I think it’s one of the key reasons why my love for the game isn’t what it used to be. It’s a different game to what it was 20-30 years ago. The powers that be have tinkered it with it so much, it’s now a shadow of itself. Where as look at soccer, NFL, baseball, basketball etc. Still what the same as they were in the 80’s.
Yeah,I agree , 80s rugby league was a lot simpler and I prefer that ..if you want to change something loose the bunker Not sure about the others codes but 80s NFL to now has definitely softened and been tweeked, you can't dramatically change baseball and basketball and soccer don't watch it .

Bunker shld be there for absolute howlers and no more
Ref shld just call it as he sees it/
Like Rugby the bunker is ruining the game constantly interfering and slowing everything down
And the "World Game" too - the VAR is just the same: pedantic, over zealous and slow - let the referee ref, simple.

I loved the footy back then as well, but I have to say the last couple of years has seen the game go to another level.

Yeah a different game but IMO the current game has plenty of skill, athleticism, speed and toughness and is second to no other game on the planet.

Anyone got the DT article on the “star Tiger cubs” who have ambushed the first graders at pre season training so far?
Nothing new in it ...

Former Penrith young gun Jack Attard has hit the ground running at Concord after officially kicking off his Wests Tigers career this week.

The schoolboy whiz kid, and the Tigers’ Jahream Bula insurance policy, reported for day one of pre-season alongside Panthers teammate Mavrik Geyer.

Both featured for Penrith’s NSW Cup side last year but back rower Geyer will be pushing for a bench spot in Round 1.

Attard, one of the most promising fullbacks in the game, defected from Penrith to join Benji Marshall’s side on a three-year deal.

The signing coup is all the more crucial given Bula’s uncertain future at the club. Bula, who has an option to remain at the Tigers in 2027, became a free agent on November 1 and can field offers from rival outfits.

Attard is still eligible for Jersey Flegg (under-21s) in 2026 but will rocket up the fullback ranks if Bula moves on from the club.

But Attard isn’t the only teen sensation reporting for their first NRL pre-season under Marshall.

He joined forwards Pheonix Godinet and Christian Taupau-Moors, who are both eligible for NRL debuts in 2026 and will be pressing their cases over the summer.

Rising rake Jared Haywood also reported for his first full pre-season.

The highly rated dummy-half has risen up the hooking pecking order after the exit of Tallyn Da Silva.

Heamasi Makasini, who made his debut last season, is expected to see plenty more first grade in 2026 after graduating from Newington College.

And the "World Game" too - the VAR is just the same: pedantic, over zealous and slow - let the referee ref, simple.
..and a big part of that is stopping the endless tv reviews that scrutinise the refs decision and force every decision to go to the bunker to avoid embarrassment
Shld be like the cricket where capatin gets 3 challenges onn
