Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

The idiotic decision to extend Benji is quite obviously a culmination of trying tj please the fans in light of the hysteria of the past week.

Yeah right - because it couldn’t possibly be another horrible decision in a decade or more of horrible decisions made by ‘the most’ under skilled board in Rugby League again - could it…

Did I read you trumpeting the promotion of a high school teacher to the board of the club?

Do you think it would have happened if there was no outrage from the fans about Richo ?
Further to that do you think Shaun Mielenkamp seems tj be a very good choice as our CEO at a fraction of the cost Richo was being paid ? Maybe we can now have a recruitment manager like every other NRL club.
Can we blame HBG for that?

Is HBG to blame for anything?

Trying to please the fans? I don't see that based on their performance during the last decade. They simply panicked with Richo leaving and 7 players threatened to leave.
These are not the people you want in those positions. Their main motivational tool is threat, as we saw from Fallah, when he threatened to withdraw or decrease funding Balmain juniors.

Many decisions such as signing Ivan Cleary to coach and signing Michael Maguire to coach were 💯 the correct decisions at the time.
One left citing board disunity. The other was sacked...

Either way...are you saying the crowning glory of HBG leadership is their ability to sign long-term unemployed coaches?

Under Cleary, we played excellent defence and often beat benchmark teams. Maguire took us from that to several spoons, the worst defence (ever?), signed has-beens, and left us with no future!

Yes and the fan hysteria without knowing the full story also played a part.
By chance, the fan hysteria doesn't have anything to do with the sacking of 4 indepenent directors less than 12 months into their roles, does it?

Yet now they've been reinstated...

So what's the full story? Because to the general public, it looks like a complete balls up by HBG, wouldn't you agree?
