Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

There's been an idiot or two from the dogs base who's suggest he'll end up at the dogs for a while now, but it's still is very unlikely that he leaves imo.

The deal was 95% done before Dennis and his Wests Ashfield cronies pulled their stunt. Ultimately I doubt that pushes him out the door, but if it does then that just further highlights to the nrl the incompetence and unprofessionalism from Wests Ashfield and will hasten their departure.
Most reporters had Bula looking at his options prior to the Wests Ashfield/Richo BS. I doubt the deal was anything more than very early negotiations, yet alone 95% done.
Wests Ashfield certainly haven't helped our chances of retaining him but i think it is simply shit slinging to say that it is their fault he leaves, if he in fact does.

It would be a cop out to blame HBG for his loss (if it eventuates). Given how many players we have lost in similar circumstances over the years. Woods, Moses, Tedesco, Matterson, Galvin, Stefano, Papali’i. It’s a pattern with this club. We can attract quality at times, but it’s near impossible to keep them here and keep them happy. When all the stuff with Galvin was happening, I called it that Bula would be the next headache.

I hope everyone is prepared for the next 12 months, because it’s gonna get chaotic. The Mays, Fainu’s, Pole, Doueihi, Turuva and Makasini all off contract at the end of 27. We’re staring straight down the barrel of a category 5 hurricane.
Well done G that would have to be one of the best doomsday posts you have ever produced lol.

If it does eventuate you can't rule out HBG's contribution, everything looked on the turn until they brain farted again, a recurring pattern

the Fainus at the very least are going nowhere . Source .. their own managers mouth in an interview I’m paraphrasing but it was basically “ Samuela wants to be the best back rower in the game , and I don’t think he will ever leave the tigers .

If Bula does leave, people will start feeling very paranoid. Not saying there will be a massive exodus, but I feel like we’d be at long odds to retain them all.

Like when Slater, then smith retired…
and Cronk moved on?
We have mediocre in our walls,
they have effort and excellence in theirs.

Waiting for them to trip seems easier than rising to their level?
The world has been waiting for Melbourne to fade forever, it just doesn’t happen.

They have the pick of top playing talent coming through, why would the next coach be any different?
Don’t they also have a Bellamy Jnr in the coaching ranks down there?
Great points, though Bellamy runs that club, once he goes there isn't any other coach you could replace him with. It'll take about 5 years imo, after 5 years of life post Bellamy, Melbourne will be mid table at best.

Let's see what happens with him 1st and what happens in the next few weeks with the HBG situation.

I have a feeling they are not going to get away Scott free it was too close to Christmas for anything to be done by who could possibly be taking aim at them.

Whenever we've had these big departures, such as the big 3, ivan and Galvin, there always was the question of why.
Why is the tigers on the nose.
Even in interviews they alluded to something they can't talk about.
Well it's quite obvious to me it's the blazer wearers.
Imagine where we'd be now if tedesco, Moses, and woods hung in there. Maybe cleary manages to get his son over.
Sliding doors.

If we lose bula, it will land squarely at the feet of Holman Barnes Group directors. Deadset rank amatures blowing up the club during the negotiations.
Rubbish - they definitely have a part to play in it but Richardson had 12 months to get the deal done and all we ever heard was that it was close to being done. If Richardson as the great saviour as some on here seem to think couldn't get the deal done over 12 months then it was pretty obvious that Bula and Moses had already selected the exit door.

The chin was never coming here. I think Cleary is the one thing that was totally out of our control.

100%.
Shane did not do well here when it came to renewing contracts.

We don't need a top 10 fullback as we aren't losing a top 10 fullback, so someone reasonably competent would-be a like for like replacement, and someone not on $900K for average out put would be better.
We aren’t losing a top 10 fullback in Bula?
This side can not attack without him and will be set back years if he leaves.

All players are replaceable, especially fullbacks given the current stock levels. The biggest trouble if Bula leaves is it has a destabilising effect on the club. It gives the media a chance to stoke up the fire again after the fire started by the HBG. Also it has to have an effect on the playing group. Certainly not the news you want with the preseason about to get serious with all players back on deck.

Still think he will stay, but history will tell you, things like this very seldom workout in the clubs favour
