The nrl need to be very careful how this plays out , lomax has a bad track record in leaving clubs very early in contracts , Dragons and Eels would have been impacted by his early exits teams / clubs set up deals to secure players for X amount of years building squads , players like Lomax , and others leaving early affects the clubs , money payments to secure realese doesn’t always work , like for like players maybe but again this could mean a swap for a player still with a few years left on his deal and then gets asked to move on so the club gets another player , not great at all , Lomax for me needs to sit out 2026 and then either compensate Parra for the balance of contract by new club and it needs to be in their cap ( Lomax 2 years left , new club pays eels $ 250 k per year on their cap , eels get that money and use it in pathways , not in their cap , yes players ofLomax calibre not playing nrl is not good but contracts today need to be re done to protect against this type situation , simple you sign on you play or sit out the balance , with no pay , clubs also need to be in the same situation , you signs player you are locked in , don’t want him sit him out and pay his wages , or give him to a new club free to them and old club still pays his wages, contracts currently are rubbish , just my early morning rant

Eels are demostrating a lot more internal fortitude in retaining disgruntled players than weve ever done
Have said that,Lomax is not around the training group every day kicking stones
This will finish with $$$ exchange..eels have already paid him out,so it will be a matter of how much they can claw back

Well so far they have played it pretty much exactly as we did with Galvin. At some point a deal will be done and Lomax will be playing for another NRL club. The tough talk is just part of the process.

I don't mind intervention if its a spot at a bottom 6 team that needs help, however I'm not comfortable with a player of his quality going to the storm in these circumstances. I believe parra said that they will veto or approve a move to an NRL club, so you would imagine they probably would have copped him going to the knights, tigers, titans etc.. I do hope parra get screwed over though as they have a history of tampering.

Agree plus we are sick of the Storm making the top 4 every year, boring, long for the season they miss out on the 8, knock them back a peg.

Arrogant tossers think they can sign anyone they like as if it's their god given right, praying it falls over.
