If I was Twal manager I would have said to the Tigers he's on 400K for 26 and 27 I want to renegotiate for a four year contract

Give us $350K in 26 and 27 and for 28 and 29 give us 300K a season that would take Twal through to his 32 years old and any problems with head knocks he will get a medical retirement

I'm not even sure if Twal hit the open market whether anyone would be interested in him. So if he does get an extension imo it would be like winning the lottery for him.

Half a dozen clubs would. There is a massive shortage of props hence the crazy bidding on leo thompson and kolo. Props are 2nd only to half backs in demand atm. Plus twal is a prop that can play long minutes which many clubs are after

What ever you may think of the Laundy's, one thing they are is very astute when it comes to investing their money.

We told him we were Tigers fans and he told us the story about the board meeting he was invited to and how shit he was treated by 1 board member. He was prepared to invest until that time.

I think our depth is fair & juniors promising. KPP & Bunty is what we needed right now.

Hopefully given some of the recent deals we have $$$ in the bank when we need to target someone.

You can deep dive into and look at the numbers, worth, analytics and current landscape with two new teams. But as a fan, it really comes down to whether or not you would prefer a 28-31 year old solid, proven first grader who you know can do a job and fill a specific role OR a mid tier junior prospect who most likely wont play more than 50 games but has the minimal chance of MAYBE surprising everyone, like a (respectfully) Sukkar.

Previously it was a choice between the solid mid tier solid first graders and the elite juniors, but that luxury is gone with the elite juniors as the new teams will take them (with money and opportunity) or the elite teams will offer them opportunities to replace their players who have been poached by PNG and Perth.

Because thats what its going to come down to... Squad depth is going to become thinner and the new teams will be willing to offer the gun juniors overs (money wise) and first grade opportunities to get them out. So clubs are going to have to chose between retaining guys like Twal, Hazelton, Curran, Hess etc or a junior who they're not entirely sure about and is probably in the top 4-10 range in the junior ranks.

Heard the same thing but can’t remember the board meeting location , he had ties with Balmain folks but not sure iif the meeting was with them , bad move by whomever the director was , he would have been a very good supporter for Wests Tigers
