Small, slow - not very good maybe?

He’s short which is a disadvantage for an NRL winger these days, but I wouldn’t call him small as he’s very fit, very strong and weighs over 90kgs
Slow ? I have also stated he doesn’t seem to be overly fast, but I wouldn’t call him slow. He hits top speeds very quickly and runs the ball without fear which are two very strong attributes.
I’m 50/50 on whether he will become a high quality NRL player or not, but I certainly wouldn’t write him off and I hope he has a massive breakout season for us in 2026.

He got a contract and a chance to play firsts. I'd guess on better money too.

I'd suggest it's not hard to imagine why he would sign with them.

It’s not as if another club was offering him massive money, I highly doubt Perh Bears would be paying him anymore than 250k.

I’m with you on that.
However it is not a big spend on an NRL teams salary cap, particularly if the player is either a regular starting player or good enough to play more than 5 or 6 games per season.

Young rugby league players are well known to be open to plenty of improvement, particularly aged 19-23

Remember this win Brooks had a good game and I always rated Corey Thompson

Corey was awesome. Never gave up.

Brooks was a decent player but he was a 5/8th always. Like Shaun Johnson at the Warriors who would of killed it at fullback.

I harp on about it but no idea why nobody ever told Brooks to play speed wise like Thurston. Running flat tak every play doesn't work. Thurston was the master in how fast he moved and that contributes to a unsure defensive line.

Love hard working players though
