Averillo & Arthurs are wanting out of their clubs because they aren’t getting a starting spot. They ain’t coming here to be depth

They are better than what we currently have on our right. There would be no need for both of them , just one or the other.

Just some joining of dots I would say TS.

I think the signing of Herbert for this year and next tells you everything you need to know about a) the money we have available b) the faith the club and Benji have in To'a. They are all in on him for better or worse.

He will probably end up with a similar frame to Briton Nikora, about 185. However that suits his play style as he is a crash ball player and is very very strong.

The game is different now and its almost better having those compact forwards who are powerful and have a big motor. Usually with shorter/smaller forwards, the issue is defense, and that is absolutely not an issue for Pheonix. In fact id say hes almost the perfect mould for a forward in 2026 onwards

Averillo is a downgrade to Skelton, just resign Skelton for 300k a season for 2 years, no need for new signings

Can play centre, wing, fullback and 5/8. Also a good goalkicker. Good option.

I know you hate being told the club has no money …because suggesting a 100 different players to come to the club is what you do throughout the season.

This year that is going to be more pointless than it usually is …

Will be interesting who is responsible for the development money. If it is the government, then it may be worse than what it is now by the time the money runs out.

Really can’t see many players with kids ( young ones ) going there , having to live in a compound will not go down well with the wife’s , NO shopping ( that would kill them ) my be it will just be a fly in and then out

I rather believe our development system has improved which means our youngsters learn on a much better system.

Two very different players, imo

Skelton is a winger
Averillo is a utility back, can cover 1-6, maybe even 7, no worse than Daine Laurie did the other day.

I don’t get what people say sometimes on here. Some complain about a current player by insinuating they’re more suitable to being a cup/2nd string fill in but want to replace them with basically the exact same level of player. Thats not how we upgrade our squad or starting team.

I think people having concerns about Toa is reasonable given how he played at the back end of last season and what we have since heard about his injury …. But I suspect they are going to have to deal with it in 2026 with what they already have

Have zero issues with concerns with Toa, I have them as well. The replacement names some are mentioning aren’t any better than him - they are all fringe 1st graders for a reason with similar issues.

Agree - full of errors. Has ability but lacks consistency and hence will be a drifter unless something major changes.

Funny how their is a line up of clubs fighting for his signature ?
Jesse Arthurs looks likely to switch to the Titans immediately which would be a good fit for him and the club, he’s far too good to be playing reserve grade.
