Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Mate he hasn't played a game for us yet you might be surprised, give him a chance, he didn't get much opportunity at the knights how can you show what you can do when the ball is bypassing you to the backs 90% of the time.

It's up to Doueihi to give him some useful ball, I remember on one occasion at the knights when they finally got the ball to him, he ran through a gap for 50mtrs.
I watched him play for England without those constraints...he was fine without being brilliant.

He is just not going to move the dial if he can't produce something different than what he has shown so far, but look...I want him to do well. If there's some special talent he's been hiding all this time, I hope he puts it on display with us.

Yeah, solid for England but you saw how good the Aussie defence was and it looked to me that he was singled out as a danger in the game plan, they were all over him like a blanket, no room to move.

Let's see how he go's, it will probably take a few games to settle into his new club, but I'd expecting much better impact with us than under a braindead gameplan O'Brien had mapped out for him.

Providing our man AD promotes the ball to him in good position as well.

Hope so mate. It's area we are short on.

We can’t afford Mitch this year …we are dead broke as I’ve told you ….Pole ain’t making enough room…just wait for next year and free up some money in the meantime
I think this is the reason why we're hiring total nobody Backs.

Were either broke OR were trying to min/max so our cap is spent on the 1-17 that takes the field.

Considering that our Juniors, for one actually seemed a little dangerous in the trials... Maybe we're spending where we need to.

I don't know if we have the coach yet I think he needs another year to develop

And we need a 13 if we get the other May from the UK he would be a perfect 13 for us and to be honest make us capable of a top 4 finish
So IVAN CLEARY is a brilliant coach,
But our coach who got our team to win against IVANS team needs another year to cut it with the big boys, give him a break,
He is already the equal of the other NRL coaches.

Well I reckon there’s a fair chance the Warriors would be open to a straight swap Mitch Barnett for Fonua Pole this season if we were interested.
As much as I could see someone like Mitch Barnett adding some real toughness and steel to our forward pack, I would not let Fonua go as I see massive upside in him and think he will be one of the best middles in the NRL within a couple of years.
The warriors are stacked in the middle my guy . When they got Barnett from the knights he was an edge backrower who did a job in the middle . They’ve done an amazing job as well as himself turning him into an elite middle .
One thing I will say if they did swap say a Pole for a Barnett is , Barnett allows for a transition and clear pathway forward to the young middles as he’s older and you can see a smoother transition . Pole is kind of stuck between age groups a little IMO.

Sorry if I have missed it, but you keep saying we are broke, where has that information come from?

Well ..: Richo said months ago when he was still in the role not to expect any new signings …Assume he was only talking about this upcoming season 2026 and not 2027 ? That doesn’t lead me to think there is a million bucks sitting there unspent

Also … big rumours a week or so back as mentioned here and on the podcasts that they had to wait until Bird moved on to free up some money so they could throw a bone to Bula on this years deal to get him to sign the freaking contract extension …

What do you know otherwise?

Im not sure how my question came across, but it appears you took it as a shot at you. I was just curious

That's so funny player's like coaches need to develop.

Even Benji in his after game press conference's says he is still learning and making mistakes and in his press conference has said we lost today because of him

So strange your comment even a broken clock is right twice a day

Realistically forwards are probably 23-24 before they really start to peak. Hoping to see that from Pole this year. I wasn’t very impressed with his trial like some others have said.

If Dylan Brown can get 1.3 million at Newcastle, Bula can definitely get a million at a desperate club.

I couldnt disagree more. Pole has one good game followed by 2 average ones. Cant compare the two, not even close. Only downside is age as few have mentioned. id be happy if Pole turns out to be 80% as good as Mitch

So he is equal to Bellamy Bennett Ivan Madge Ricky Robbo ?

It's bizarre genuinely bizarre
