Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

With the 6 man bench I assume we will always include a back up halve whether that be Lutu Fainu or Jock Madden.
That being the case we will always have insurance if Doueihi or anyone else is having a bad game and struggling in the halves.
I’m a big Jock Madden fan and could not be more impressed than what he has so far shown us in his return to Wests Tigers colours.
I think JM has matured and is 💯 NRL ready.
However, I’m an even bigger fan of Doueihi’s running game when playing in the halves and think his run threat will cause our opponents chaos.
The 6 man bench could not have come at a better time for us and should be ideal for us providing Benji uses a bit of common sense and uses it correctly.
a big Jock madden fan, to play reserve i hope. He is not even close to a quality half and if we are starting with Madden at any time were in trouble.

Pole is on the up whilst Barnett is not.

Im not even entertaining a swap
Man i must be watching a different game than some on this forum. How Pole who plays 1 good game a month is mentioned with the current state of origin and Australian FR. Come on man i get supporting your team but thats an absolute joke. Lets revisit it at years end when he wants to go to Storm then im sure wel get a different description of the quality of player he is.

I don't think Pole will play his best football with us. Wherever he goes next (probably Melbourne) he'll become a great player. His heart just doesn't seem to be in it sometimes. Has Dale Finucane vibes about him.

I don't rate the Canterbury spine

And I also don't rate the Melbourne spine

The reason I don't rate the Melbourne spine is because they have all eyes up player's all individually brilliant but as a spine fall down they can blow teams off the park but fall down in the grind and pressure incapable of winning a comp

I remember the Broncos in 2006 everyone did not rate Shane Perry but he didn't have to be brilliant he just had to do his thing kick to the corners the occasional run and be smart with his passing and give it to Locky when he called for it

At Melbourne they are to frantic to win enough big games
Is that what has been wrong with our spine? Too many individually brilliant players? Too frantic?

Api is up there but definitely not first choice. Luai is dropping to that category as well. Taylan may I think could excel in origin arena but centre is pretty stacked for nsw with all the excess fullbacks
Terrell has a way to go imo. Especially now that they have adjusted the eligibility criteria
Terrell should have been selected last year before Max King. That was a pathetic selection

Maka should spend 1-2yrs on the wing, leave him outside of May and Luai. We got to stop changing these kids around and we need combinations which lead to reliability & confidence to form.

Toa if we are going to give early ball is fine, if we aren’t then we need someone else. Skelton defensively at center makes me shutter alot more than Toa.

Turuva on the wing under high balls is my biggest concern and has been for ages. I have been a huge supporter of his well before he came here but that’s always been a challenge spot for him & hasn’t improved.
Skelton at centre next to him could offer Turuva support under high balls. Toa is too lazy to bother getting across to help and Tino gets isolated

Former Tigers;

Moses Mbye, Q cup - Ipswich Jets
Alex Lobb - Q cup, Wynnum Manly Seagulls
Bayley Sironen. Also at WM Seagulls.
Tim Johannsen still in Rabbitohs reserve grade squad. Man, he flew too close to the sun at WT, too great expectations from club and player?. Did an Icarus and fell to earth with a big thud. Still he had an opportunity, many of us High school and park footballers could only dream of that.
