Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

All the Lomax stuff feels a bit Deja vu. I got AI to give me a list of the most mentioned non-tigers players in this thread:

PlayerEstimated mentions
Payne Haas~700–1000
Cameron Munster~500–700
David Fifita~400–600
Zac Lomax~250–450
Bradman Best~200–350

No prizes for guessing that Luke Brooks is the most mentioned player - twice more than anyone else.
No way brooks still going strong

Great news.
Plugged some holes in the team just not in the D line. Ended up a liability.
Didn’t he sign with us bcoz we offered 2 years?
He was a goer when he was young.
What condition does he have ? and the injections he takes every week so he can move around I can not remember the name of it but they said when he was younger he would never play league and life would be over in his 40's so great to see him have an excellent career

I thought it was Arthur as Nana BF use to call it. But yeah he’s obviously had to overcome more than the average bear to get to NRL level and he has had a decent career, I reckon he could have been a one club player, but I guess he probably had to chase the $$& while the going was good due to his history of health battle.

Really hoping Terrell and KPP aren't missing from it.
KPP was definitely precautionary . You gotta remember they were still being flogged when we played Penrith . They were maxing out on the training , because they were playing 2 weeks after every other team . Because of this , guys like KPP were simply rested because they were already maxed out due to where the preseason was .
They only started ramping down last week . I think we should be full strength minus Latu .

That's good to hear mate, bit disappointing that picture of Roberts in a moon boot, was looking forward to getting a look at him in some grade hope it's not too serious.

Hes been at 2 clubs in 2 years and looking to make a 3rd.

We need stability, not a one night stand.

I find it hilarous that Zero Tackle was talking which player teams could swap for Lomax...

Yep they named Toa for us.
Not May, not Makasini... not Turuva.

Yea, I would love it if Parra took Toa. There is ZERO chance of this happening unless another player was included as well.
Throw in Will Craig. Sale of the Century!

Let's say a certain fullback is about to join the Bulldogs (next year).

Who do we realistically look at that to fill that role?

I hope we have a shot at Jaxon Perdue, but who else is out there that
wouldn't make the loss of Bula as bad?
You would just get the Dogs FB in who tries hard and use the surplus funds to add to your forward pack imo.

Nobody, if we lose Bula we should be going all in for Purdue.
Make him an offer too good to refuse.

That’s not until 2028 over 2 years away.
In what world would you not at least try to significantly upgrade your team for the next 2 seasons ?
Cant see why that concept is so elusive to grasp
Weve sat on our hands and done nothing ..as usual
Too focussed on our own salaries and the size of the bird to actually look at the big picture and what may benefit the tigers
..and our Board is supposedly so smart(according to their peers)
the biggest losers in this whole saga are Eels who admirably defended their positition, but got no-one in exchange because they were too fussy and too demanding on a swap they had little leverage in
And of course Storm who peed away $700k for nothing
For WTs,it just a lost opportunity, particularly with Bula likely to depart

Well I hope we're all over it and I hope my mail is wrong. I'd hate to
see Turuva there again. Purdue could really be something at fullback.
I'd much rather keep Bula though.
Wonder what the hammers status is.

Am i missing something or some insight into Jaxon Purdue and his name on this forum? Has his manager been linked to us in discussions or has he some family connection or whatnot? I’d love him to come here however the frequency of his name appearing here makes me think 🤔 I’ve missed seeing something that makes his potential signing a bit more likely or obvious ?

Purdue would be a massive upgrade and I’ve heard there are definitely Sydney clubs circling him, so I’d hope we are one of fhem,
If Bula departed and we just rely on internal promotion it will be a very bad mistake in my opinion.
Not saying we don’t have some very exciting prospects such as Attard and Brookes etc, but it could take them a while to get up to Bula’s standard if they get there at all.
The other big advantage of potentially signing someone like Purdue is his versatility, he could move to playing centre or 5/8 if we have an internal emerging fullback playing too well to leave out of our NRL team.
