Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I think he loves it and does it more to get the press talking about him and not his player's
You could say Benji was a little cranky after last weeks win against the Cows...I think its just a way to keep the team focused, talk them up when they are down so they keep their chins up and know the coach has their backs and maybe raise the bar and be a bit critical when they are up and enjoying a win, especially so with a young side.

No hamstring tear for douehi but probably will be rested for a week
I think that's smart. As Benji said, his body is still getting used to the pressures of playing week in week out in the halves. Don't want to risk a bigger injury.

I'd treat this trip to NZ as a bit of a camp, putting trust in some of the younger team to step up. I'd even contemplate resting Api, even though that scares me.

Basically, I want Doueihi and Api ready to dig in on Easter against Eels, and if that means missing an international flight and letting the next gen step up, I'm open to it. So spine would look something like:

1. Bula (needs to be more involved)
6. Andrews
7. Madden
9. Hope/Haywood

Might be a lot of learning, but could pay dividends in the long run.

You are copping it about Purdue but I dee where you are coming from. He is definitely a gun, and looking at his skillset he looks custom made for fullback IMO. Big risk throwing large money at him though when he hasn't played there. You could end up with a million dollar centre if he doesn't nail the fullback role. Id be going after Fletcher Sharpe and happy to pay overs for him
I'd love for Wests Tigers to snap up Sharpe, but there's no way he's leaving the Hunter any time soon. Andrew Johns would say "Over my dead body". As long as he's happy there he's a Knight for life.

Is Api injured or are you resting him only after 2 games?

Sharpe signed a 4 year extension with the knights at the beginning of last year so it would be unders for what he’s worth now .

I can see a scenario though where the knights let ponga go early to go play rugby which would free up a lot of $ for them to get their cap in balance & upgrade players like sharpe .

Hes a freak. i know hes e gun and i know for a fact the fans are crazy abt him up there Knights would be off there heads to let him go. If Brown is on 1.3 id pay 1mil any day for Fletcher.
Big cap pressure at Newy though, with brown and Ponga eating up about 2.5m per season, I think he’s gettable and big upgrade on Bula, we should be agitating for him or Purdue to come here and play 1

I wrote an article about Galvins hip drop the other night,
And I pointed out the fact when with Tigers in his first year he was given 4 weeks.

With the Dogs he was not even penalised, but, I was then happy that the Judiciary did mention it the following day, but everyone was stating he would only cop a 1k or 1-5k fine for the offence.
And one of our members sent a reply to my message stating that they no longer worry about the hipdrop anymore.

Well I was just reading about two other hipdrop offences this last weekend,
And both players are tipped to get 4 weeks each for there hipdrops, but no mention of Galvins, so much for they dont worry about it anymore, two things can help a player escape bad results from judiciary,

And they are certain clubs are treated better than others, ( GUS GOULD ???? )

Or, so called SUPERSTARS are given benefit of the doubt.
