Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Bula isn’t that big a loss. Not for what we offered him. I’ve heard Connor Tracey has been great for the dogs. Who knows. I reckon there is a plan in the background here from Benji.
Connor Tracey for 2 years would be perfect IMO so we can develop our junior ones. He would not cost a lot PLUS he is a player that just puts 100% effort every game.
I'm sorry but I just over this Bula rubbish as IF HE wanted to stay it would have been done by now and he is nowhere near worth 950k..

Shame as he has the potential but this just has Galvin, TDS written all over it.

The rest of the players are clearly 100% on board

What is it with these dragged on Moses client's extension deals, when was the last one that went in or favour.

Nearly ready to open the door out of Concord for him, sorry if this makes some of you cranky.
RHS it’s a game of chess and we are rightfully not making a move to agree on paying a big money long contract until we see a few big money performances on the field.
The only issue is we are being more than fair by waiting to see if this happens as it could mean us missing out on all other potential targets if we don’t see any big money performances on the field.
I probably sound like a broken down record, but take is as gospel that Bula would re-sign with us tomorrow if we agree to pay what his camp is looking for.
What our supporters are not understanding is we need to be very careful and make sure we see the big money performances on the field before offering what is being requested as if we just pay it without seeing the proof, we could be stuck with a well overpaid player for the next 5 years.

We've already tabled 2 offers - he is yet to accept them.

Frankly, he does not need to sign any extension now because he can just take up his option and defer the decision until next year.

You’re wrong though. It’s been reported we’ve offered him 2 deals both @ 950k, two years and four years. He hasn’t signed them. Idk where you keep getting the “we’re waiting” idea from. He’s clearly dragging it out until May to sign elsewhere it’s not the club doing it.

If Bula goes, we need to go all out to lure Ryan Papenhuyzen or Joey Manu imo. I can see a world where it happens.
Both would be next level signings.

Tigers need to continue targeting star talent, like we did with Luai.
They improve our play, give us leadership, stature and legitimate fear factor.

We need a bonafide centre, halfback and fullback. One more quality prop/lock.
A smattering of top and second tier players to fill those positions would make us contenders.

The guys that play there currently could move to the bench, strengthening our interchange - which has been a weakness of ours for years.

Our team at present, particularly our backline, won't be enough in a finals push. Let alone making the top 8.

It seems obvious. So I hope Benji et al are planning.

What you're saying is painfully obvious V, word the contract for him so that when he shows the club that the ridiculous price tag he wants is achieved its ratcheted up from season to season, the base being 700k if he stays at the same level and that's generous.

Sign the contract and prove you're worth it, up to the present moment I'm not seeing it.

People go watch Logan Brookes play in the lower grades this kid wants to play first grade and he wants at the Tigers.

I know those figures were thrown around in the media, but should we believe it, I don't think the club feels he's approaching that elite money, if they do, they haven't learnt a thing.

We have offered the 2 year deal, I’m not sure if it was for 900k or 950k and our 4 or 5 year offer was at least 100k per season less.
Isaac on behalf of Jahream wants 4 or 5 years on that same money, which we have rightly advised we need to see a few elite performances on the field before committing to that type of big money contract long term.

I could not pay him any more than 600k tops on what he has shown so far this season.
Let’s see if he can increase his value with an elite match winning performance on Friday night ?
I haven’t got my hopes up.

And you know this how?

It seem's Benji's bench strategy is to have 1 winger/centre on there to cover an injury if it happens (Turuva moves to fullback if it's Bula). Tavana may have the gig this week as a rotation with Herbert if Benji rates them similar (and then the other can get reps in Cup).
I like what I've seen of Tavana.

His try in the pre season was finished like a 200 game veteran. He looks very fast, very fit and I'd love to see him get some game time as he has class written all over him and if he can progress quickly he will help with fix some of our backline conundrums/Bulla situation down the track this season & leading into 2027.

Luke is a big loss imo but kit we will move on from fast
Weve effectively got 4 wingers in our backline this week..throw in Tavana, and maybe even Toa whose defence isnt good enuff in the middle. So we have surplus wingers, and LL is really low on the list
Both the L brothers killed it when they were bigger than everyone else, but no longer the situation
Enjoy WA
