Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

For the coin Skelton is on there's legit no one better. Find me a winger who can consistently run for close to 200m a week in the NRL on 250k a year.
Yep good squadie, provides great value. Great in yardage and a strong finisher. For a 2nd drop winger in the depth im not sure we can do much better

Literally seen no one claim he is the next immortal like a few here seem to be making out.

I’ve also seen no one refer to him as being “irreplaceable “….might be just as well because it looks like they are in no hurry to re-sign him and someone else can sign him any time …

I would be happy to re-up him for 2 more years on his current deal if he’ll take it …. They paid more the last 2 years for Charlie Stains

Yeah last few years the guys we have had for depth on the wing were players like Kepoa, Talau and Tupou. Think he is better than them. Just whether he would want to hang around for a low wage depth spot.

Makasini on the wing and replacement for injuries to centres.
Gets experience in defence where he needs to improve.
Then it's who is the better centre get the nod.
They call it competition for spots or depth.
I think that would probably be ideal for us for the next 12-18 months, but we are in a tricky situation as every team in the NRL as well as Rugby Union are well aware of Makasini’s potential, so we realistically need to allow him a bit of leeway and fast track him in his preferred position if we hope to keep him long term.
That is nothing against his attitude as he seems to have a great attitude, but it’s just being realistic we might need to suck up a little bit of short term pain for long term gain with him.
It will be very interesting how he plays tonight, it would not surprise me if he has a huge game.

$350k I would guess,.. might be an option for Union as well at that price

Chatting with a mate at the pub about player's he likes the movie money ball

Said Alex Seyfart is the worst Tiger per minutes player this year and he is on the equivalent of 1.8/1.9 million per season if he keeps his minutes the same

He said Jerome Luai is a bargain at 1.2million

Comparing anyone to Seyfarth is not a high bar

No it's not it's interesting with minutes played per dollar value

Alex Twal could be the best money ball player after the Brisbane centre on 170K

And it makes you wonder what is a good price for a player and someone on the bench playing under 20 minutes a week on a 400K salary is a waste of cap per minutes of performance

I’m going to go down to my local this arvo ..: but it’s in the northern beaches so all they do is whinge about Siebold … not much talk about who the Tigers are signing …

I’ll be 7 beers deep by kickoff .. so might be a good idea to refrain from the game thread

And with bench spots the successful clubs pay there bench players less which works wonders to buy and retain elite talent
