Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Game of his life... goes to show how dangerous he can be when he has time, space and isolated with a single defender...

That ball the through to Tavana has gone completely unacknowledged and it was 10/10...
I acknowledged it in another thread.

Good running game, shit passing game including the pass to Tavana which I have to give the young bloke credit for taking because plenty would not have taken that to score the try.

Just my opinion though.

Oh... I forgot Samuela & Latu... Just shows we are in a good space but work to do

Unsure what we offer Skelton, I would suggest another year or 2 budget deal for depth. Very hand to keep on the 19 man bench.
Rather swap Skelton for a centre..not sure thats Makas position tbh,and were short in that area

That headgear has proven as useful as tits on a bull. 2 runs in 46 minutes. He and Ben would be working at McDonalds if it wasn’t for Tom.
I think the bubble wrap headgear made more metres than him. I have had manly fans say they keep him because he is great for morale, so give him pom poms & let him be a cheerleader because he is not anywhere near a first grade player.

Harsh, but true.
Jake has been a great player, but I think due to always putting his body on the line and playing above his weight, that combined with all his head knocks have caught up with him and his body no longer allows him to function well enough to play like he once did.
Sad to see for someone who appears to be a real genuine good bloke.
As of now Charlie Murray is a far superior 13 and he can’t even get on our top 19.

Don’t watch loads of manly games but at least his headgear stays on. Masi lost his headgear and a boot last night, Canterbury and adidas needs to get him sorted out

Seyfarth has come on each game this season, played with good energy and physicality, not made an error and not missed a tackle, what more do you want or expect from him ?
Benji knows his value and obviously considers him a valued part of our top 17 because of it.

is he keeping Murray out of the team or not though ?

Yes Seyfarth is one of the players currently keeping Charlie Murray out of our NRL team.
Despite our Reserve Grade team now being 0-3 Murray has played very well in each game and is ready whenever we need him as part of our NRL squad.

I mean ..barring injury …that is the spot that Murray has to take if he is going to be a regular in the team …the others possibilities are just playing too well…

I’d like for him to be doing so before too long… the upside is higher

Wests Tigers have long been criticised of not being able to develop or improve players.
When looking at our current playing roster, we have quite a few players that have improved dramatically, some just from the end of last season to now, so that has to be credited to Benji and our current coaching team.
On the other hand we have also had some recent players who never reached their potential and have since departed. I suppose it’s just human nature that you cannot improve or get the best out of everyone and we know Benji is big on rewarding hard work and dedication which is how it has to be.
Charlie Murray is one of our players who has improved out of sight and he will get his NRL opportunities at some stage this season.

The player has got to want to improve …you don’t see too many veterans like Twal make the leap he has… I put that more down to the player…given how rare it is ..I can’t even think of a similar example in recent years

I don’t think Twal has been nearly as bad as what many of our supporters have made him out to be over the years, but there is no doubt he is currently in career best form.
His ability to now pass before the line and offload has added an extra dimension to his game and his confidence looks better than ever.
The biggest thing is the overall increased level of our forward pack which now plays much more physical in attack and defence than we have in recent years, so it’s hard for opposing teams to close down or target any one of them.
We obviously have to be careful not to get too excited too soon as we have only won 2 games, but the early signs are very good and we should have a stack of improvement left in us.
