Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Don’t watch loads of manly games but at least his headgear stays on. Masi lost his headgear and a boot last night, Canterbury and adidas needs to get him sorted out
Jake’s headgear kept falling off, it was like it was just sitting on his head & not done up at all. No idea who makes the weird headgear he is wearing now but I don’t think they will be rushed with players wanting to buy it.

I don’t think Twal has been nearly as bad as what many of our supporters have made him out to be over the years, but there is no doubt he is currently in career best form.
Not bad, just bleh. A plodder, as some would say. Idk what he’s been doing in the off season, but he should have been doing it for the previous 7 or 8 too.

Only player I'd look to add for 2026 would be Tyrone May if he wanted to come back to Australia.

Adds depth at #13, #6, #3/4.

He basically replaces Bird.
Tyrone May has always been a very classy player and looks to have grown in confidence in the UK and a better player now than he was before he left.
My concern is he’s played exclusively as a 7 since he’s been in the UK and I’m not sure he would now be willing to play tough enough to be a 13 if he come back to the NRL ?
That coupled with the fact we are already trying to work out how we fit Luai, Doueihi, Latu and Madden all in our NRL team, means there is no real need for another 6,7, 13 or 14 at the moment.

His ability to now pass before the line and offload has added an extra dimension to his game and his confidence looks better than ever.
The biggest thing is the overall increased level of our forward pack which now plays much more physical in attack and defence than we have in recent years, so it’s hard for opposing teams to close down or target any one of them.
We obviously have to be careful not to get too excited too soon as we have only won 2 games, but the early signs are very good and we should have a stack of improvement left in us.

Dunno if he has ever been “bad”…. I would have described him more as 1 dimensional…..I used to get a bit angry when the ball found it’s way to him inside the opposition 20 because the play would likely end then,,.he has certainly increased his impact now running and offloading

Forwards look good and have played well collectively three weeks in a row…they have some depth too which makes a change …

I think the bubble wrap headgear made more metres than him. I have had manly fans say they keep him because he is great for morale, so give him pom poms & let him be a cheerleader because he is not anywhere near a first grade player.
Oh, please no krissy, I don't want to see Jake Trbojevic in one of those bum cheek bearing leotards, the horror.

Pay closer attention to last night's game.

I saw Jake's headgear rolling around on the ground at least twice.

Shaun Mielekamp on the Ambush interview prior to the Souths game …” we are not expecting to bring anyone else into the club ( Top 30 spots) … we are very comfortable with the roster “

Maybe something to keep in mind if anyone might think Reece Walsh is coming here next month…
What we want to hear from Shaun

“Luai has removed his clauses and Jahream, Samuela, Terrell and Makasini have extended long-term”

Yeah, but you know the old saying:

A Bird in the hand is worth Jack (that seems to be true in our case at least)

The player has got to want to improve …you don’t see too many veterans like Twal make the leap he has… I put that more down to the player…given how rare it is ..I can’t even think of a similar example in recent years
I see that as a growth in confidence which I think is partly due to his increase in celebrity status.

He appears to be a guy that is generally well liked in the rugby league community and by supporters of all clubs.
