Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Living that right now . The money is amazing . I literally am praying for redundancy to save me from this job . The politics , skullduggery , backstabbing, deceit , all while everyone pretends they’re all best mates … does my head in . I’m a square peg in a round hole …. Anyways . The kids have everything they want. So I take joy in that …
You’re on the board of HBG ?

What industry??

I love my job and my industry.

In truth, I wouldn't mind another 100k or so to help with the day to day expenses etc.

Tbh I dislike the Eels more. Especially when Gutho was playing. Galvin doesn't carry on. He gets hit hard and gets on with it. .Moses and Gutho would of been at the refs face for 5 minutes screaming that the tackle was too hard. They are pathetic.
It was because of him they stopped sponsors and fans going into the sheds post game for quite a while. He wrote a dossier about the coach. Also weaseled his way out of a contract. Atleast Gutho keeps it on the field.

Didn’t galrat crack the shits in the sheds majorly one day at Benji as well

Jeral Skelton is an interesting one in regards to our player re-signings.
In a perfect world we absolutely keep him as depth if he is not starting for us, but I think he’s too good to be a depth player and would be starting at quite a few other NRL clubs.
A winger who is as big, tall, strong and fast as him is very valuable when like him they generally make a minimum of 150 plus metres gained including plenty of strong yardage carries, plus the added bonus he is a genuine tackle buster who is very hard to stop when given one on one opportunities anywhere within 20-30m of the try line.
Due to these reasons think it will quickly become a case of either use him or lose him,
The next few games should tell us a lot in regards to how we shape our team moving forward.
Will Turuva prove himself to be a genuine option as an NRL quality centre, will Makasini fix up his defence and prove he is ready to be a permanent NRL centre, or is he better suited to playing wing in the short term and will Tavana prove he is ready to be a permanent NRL winger.

He always seems to be carrying niggles. Think he’d be ahead of LL if he was fully fit.

Probably, but Luke Laulilli is a genuine line break threat with his willingness to hit top speed quickly when running the ball.
I think we are losing him to Perth just as he is about to become a very good NRL quality winger, but I don’t think it’s ideal to have two smaller, shorter wingers, so he it would not be a good balance having Turuva and Laulilli as our wingers long term.

There aren’t too many wingers who give you strong carries and reliability in the air, it is a bit of a trade-off mostly.

I’d like to see us keep Skelton and eventually mould him into a bench forward.

I’m suprised a club hasn’t signed him yet. He’s better than some of the starting wingers at some clubs right now. Same as Jock Madden. Clubs like the dragons really dropped the ball.

Makes no sense he is not starting in front of LL, who is off to Perth anyway and is work in progress.
Why bother developing LL when Jeral is a genuine first grader and went well last year.
Get Jeral in firsts and give him another year on his contract. He is only on about 270k as well.

Yea I don't get that either. Their charter is to promote and fund sport in the western suburbs catchment area.
It’s why they exist - without the supporting of local community organisations (like sporting teams etc.) clubs aren’t allowed to exist.

They’ve already proven to be mediocre at best at running the football team they were founded on - and they’re looking to buy another in a code none of them know anything about, in an area that’s totally foreign to them.
It’s nuts!!

Isn’t there a Macaurther Soccer team they could support?
