Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

As always it depends on cost, but if available we would have to at least enquire about Jaydn Su’a.
In a beaten team he’s been consistently in the Dragons top 3 players and although he’s played his entire career as an edge back rower, there is no reason why he would not add value as a starting 13.
Would we be a better team if someone like Su’a started the game for us at 13 with Twal starting at prop ? Su’a would not be a ball playing type of 13, but his aggressive running and defending would likely make our forwards pack more formidable and what a great back up to have in case one of our starting edge back rowers miss a game out injured.
Disagree.
Why would you move twal from 13 who is in career best form? He is playing the role perfectly.

Been seeing one of our old favourite young guns, Jordan Hill in some pix with the players of late.

Wouldn't mind him coming in on a cup deal, if he isn't already, in some way, contracted.

Two words: Benji. Marshall.
Manu doesn't strike me as someone who would join a club, rubbished by his mate Tedesco, because Benji Marshall pitches it too him.

Manu is definately someone we want, but with Makasini, May and our backline developing I don't see where he fits bar fullback. Remember he hasn't played fullback.

Like I would love to have him. Taylan May at some point will go mental... I just don't get how he fits into our current squad nor where the spare 1m cap is.

Tedesco was last here almost a decade ago. Manu would have seen May come over and make a success of it. Players seem respect Marshall. The club seems to have a different vibe. Sure it could go tits up again but right now it doesn’t seem so bad. We’re probably at the hold stage. If we can start string a few wins together and be a consistent top 8 contender, we might move to buy.

Do you spend all day playing fantasy football in your head?

Another 100k for day to day expenses? That's some pretentious snobbery right there even the average salary in Australia is around 55k.

Trades are just so incredibly overpaid, no idea if that's what you do, but so many people earn way above global benchmarks in Australia
Why shouldn’t trades be taking it in?

No one wants to do it and no kids are going into
It.

The CEO says don’t expect any new additions this season…

Even without that clear statement ..I imagine any money left would be tight …so why spend it at this position ?Our best player so far this season is Twal … so we certainly don’t need a 13… there would also be an option to play AD and even Latu here.:, not a priority

To late to get Manu it will take him half a season to get up to speed and it still mite not work would rather be more careful with the cap you could go after my Man Crush Herbie for that money or my other crush C McClean

Damien Cook and Jayden Su’a been told by the Dragons their contracts won’t be extended .. free to find a new home .. Su’a might be worth a look at . ??
Really like Jayden Sua.

This surprises me as he wasn't the reason they lost

Samuela
KPP and
SUA

YES PLEASE

Opinions ….Bulldog Ritchie today’s paper …

“let’s be frank.St George Illawarra looked clueless, thanks largely to its senior players. Forward Jaydn Sua hasn’t aimed up and neither have Val Holmes or Damien Cook.

It’s the sides leaders - the players you turn to in a crisis- who are letting down the club. They are playing dumb football and need to have a good look in the mirror “

Now I’m not one to sing the praises of Bulldog Ritchie … but St George would be the last team I would be looking at for senior players ..

I don't think we need Sua. We need another top tier middle but Sua does his best work on an edge. But he has been fantastic this year (as has Cook for that matter). Holmes has been ordinary but I don't think these 3 should be copping the blame for the directionless of the Dragons footy.
