Are we 100% sure Skelton is not a quality first drop Winger? Against Knights I see the try to them error and 2 bad defensive reads/efforts. But he busted Siafiti. How many NRL games had he played?

Tavana is the first drop winger now behind Makasini and Turuva in my opinion …

I liked Skelton last year …but he was ordinary against Souths and last week in my view …not up to NRL standard on those efforts …he has played about 25 NRL games so not a ton of experience

I don’t know enough about the wingers coming through the pathways … Skelton is 28 next year so we have seen his best already I reckon …. On the other hand he seems pretty popular on the May videos and doesn’t get paid heaps ..maybe they keep him one more year if he will take it..

A man was complaining once that he had no shoes till he stumbled barefoot in a man without feet. Skelton is the real deal. Can't see him staying here. You can't have them unless you're Roosters or Bulldogs.

Pole said to some random after the last game that he wants to stay here ..for what that’s worth ( not much)

I wouldn’t object if he extends .. think his game has improved tne past few weeks and he isn’t going to be getting paid a squillion .. but he is probably bottom of that list

I would love to keep him. I think if the chance arises to return to Victoria to be closer to his mum he will take it.

Not understanding the logic ,,,if he is their “puppet” why haven’t they made him the full time CEO and not still the interim ?

This is a very very short sighted view and I don't think you really understand how negotiation, cap and squad management works.

Its important to get the lower end of the roster sorted early. In the case of Tavana, it was a very smart move locking up Tino now. He has only played 2 games and is on a train and trial. Re-signing him now has resulted in getting him on a cheap development deal for 27' and probably a very very cheap deal for 28' and 29'.

If they had waited until later in the year, he probably would have had more NRL games which means his price would have gone up and other clubs coming in showing interest. We would have risked getting in a bidding war. Signing him early essentially means we have an NRL player for 3 more years on minimum wage rather than perhaps 300k or so if we had waited. That now means we have an extra 120-150k to re-sign the more expensive guys on the roster like Terrell, Taylan and Jahream.

The issue we have had in the past is signing and overpaying the big guns (contracts), filling out our cap and then having no money left to sign quality mid range players and getting stuck with unproven rookies and journeymen no one else wanted on bad deals.

Another good game and I guess Herbert would be next.

Heard some noise over the weekend that big red from Canberra may be on the move.

I know we pretty much had him signed sealed and delivered, before he backflipped to stay with Ricky.

You’d think if this turns into something, we may be the first club contacted.

Thoughts?

Geez, and some people think that the other Red Head that we've got has got discipline issues.

In actual fact Alex has been very good in that department in recent times and I feel he has been very good coming off the bench later on in the game.

Maybe one Big Red is enough, the other one would probably be expecting top dollar.

what i love most about this fella is when we are playing side to side (drives me nuts), the ball goes to him, he tucks it under his arms and runs straight and hard. And while he doesn't appear to have the intellect of a Uni professor off the field, he is extremely smart, and quick thinking on the field. I love him, hope he signs for life. To me he's a 2026 version of Artie Beetson.

I see him running laterally a lot when we are playing pass the parcel

Tavana signs , again this is not the priority we should be seeing , May Snr and Bulla are the 2 priority , our ceo is rubbish , a board puppet , and as other have said he doesn’t respond to emails ( I’m a member ) he just floats around hard questions , totally controlled by the board , piss weak , needs to go , and the board will be back in the headlines when bulla leaves and May brothers leave , hopeless lot of individuals with no football club experience

I for one is happy that the CEO isn't responding to fans emails. That would be a massive waste of his time responding to every peanut who writes in whinging

They don’t have to rush as they got full control and I feel they like it , and yes another puppet would be hired , they won’t pay big bucks to get a ceo who is a gun like say Wesfarmers or similar , those ceo won’t put up with them

The current CEO was brought in by Richo, and as much as I hate the Central Coast Mariners, he did an amazing job there. He's a decent operator

Murray and Sukkar id keep around, maybe Saukuru if he keeps playing well in cup. Skelton I don't know about, he's not been great his last 2 matches. Mason and Craig bye bye. Hope you'd maybe give 1 more year to if they believe Haywood needs 12 more months
