Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I'd like to know where our Temu CEO has been hiding.... Seems odd he has the interim CEO position but doesn't have negotiation experience and isn't involved in signings and retention... One would think that is a required skill of an NRL CEO.

Do we even have a full board yet and what has been going on at any recent board meetings....

Seems there is a backlog of retention and recruitment that needs sorting..... It seems our strategy in to sit on our hands and hope for the best.....

He might still have the interim position so everything needs to be ran past the boys at HBG for approval

PNG are a genuine threat. It would be a hard gig living there though. If you’ve done any travelling to a third world country you would know what it’s like, especially having a family. The whole concept of not having the freedom to just go for a run because of security or put out the rubbish just completely goes against the way we live here. Not to mention, getting your kids to school etc. Good luck to them living in a gated community. Been there done that. Like being in the Truman Show.

Yea it is 100% not fun.
The dramas with Rubbish. I was horrified as it took our principal days to work out the drama about removing the school rubbish when the inhabits of the towns tip closed the tip.

I also heard stories of a "whitepela" taking the rubbish to the tip, it was like out of "love death, n robots" as a hoard of people appeared out of nowhere saying "whitepela trash" just to witness what rubbish this person took.

The kids I reckon will be sent to an expensive Private school. I doubt they would even hit some of the 'good' Catholic schools in Moresby (and they actually are good). So they will probably be in a small class and maybe get something closer to an Australian education for $50,000 a term or similar.

more then 1 year will challenge people. I can't see the families doing more hten 1 year.

We still don’t even know about Vegas lol
I thought the Twal & Doueihi extensions meant we were gonna be more proactive instead of being slow and letting players go to market. Guess not

Was just in a third world country for six weeks with my wife and kids. Was great but was ready to leave after 4 weeks. Just can’t do anything freely. Quite depressing

The ones off contract at the end of 2027 are open to opposition offers from November this year unless we extend them between now and then.
I think you would agree it is inportant we get that done for a few of them, particularly the Fainu brothers, the May brothers and Turuva.

So six months left then to get it done ? But as I said on the other thread ..dont be surprised if they wait for the new broadcast deal to get done and maybe even test the market still like Luai is doing

Isn’t that exactly what I am pointing out ?
The figures say we will struggle to increase all of the ones we ideally want to keep and be within the Salary Cap.
So we will have to be very strategic in how much we are willing to pay each of these players who are off contract t at the end of this season or 2027.

Also… I guess you must be stoked they already got our close to two best players this season Twal and AD locked up cheap?

When are they taking the “interim” tag off him then? Might give him some more authority to get things done… both internally and give him a bit more respect externally
