Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Not sure if it's been discussed, but what does everyone think about bringing manese fainu in when he is released? Given our challenges at 9 this year with api out, it's gotta be a strong consideration on a base wage.

Whilst their situations are barely comparable given the severity of his crime, I would be treating Manase somewhat similarly to how Taylan was, cautiously.

Medium to long term, I can see him being an asset both on the field and as an integral part of our community services team, particularly with his siblings assisting him.

He did he time I don't have a problem with it everyone makes mistakes as long as he starts in Reggie's and no top 30 contract he has to earn his spot
I am a huge supporter of Manase seeing him come through the grades in the Parra comp. Everyone deserves a chance in life.

Even if/when Manase starts, if he is half the player he was when he was jailed he would be a massive asset and much better than what we have at the moment, if he gets back to his prior form he has potential to be one of the best 9s in the competition, he was trending that way prior to his incarceration.

He is the best of the four brothers in every effort, skill, speed, strength area and that is a big thing because the other brothers are exceptional, especially Samuela who is a very special talent.

We will need him for depth and to help all these young kids be brought on slowly, we cant rush kids like Haywood. Have at look what happened with Kade Reed at Dragons he is out for the rest of the year.

Interesting, opinion has it that Latu has the highest ceiling in terms of potential out of all the brothers unfortunately injury has held him back regardless I would love to have Manase at the club as long as it does not hinder Haywood progression to first grade.

We need to lock down Dozer and Latu long term first as I can see Latu slotting into 5/8 once Romey moves on with AD at 7.

Manase and Haywood sharing the hooking roles would be super once Api hangs up his boots.

Great work by the club , we have just about secured a nice future !just add big Sam F and Latu , then go shopping for a centre , and get a new broom out for the reserves plus Toa .
We will remove Kit , Luke , Maverick and probably another 2 or 3 we just need to move Toa on , Herbert can be our reserve grade centre , we should be looking to promote a few and bring in min 4 new heads accross firsts and reserve grade ,
Agree, our main 19 good but 20- 30 and State Cup still weak this has been exposed. Also someone else for Hope, we may be lucky and get that Roosters bloke (Watson?).

I think people are expecting a lot of Manase Fainu. He was very talented but he'd be thousands to ever be able to reach the NRL again after six years out of pro sport. Has a comeback after six years out of pro sport back to the NRL ever been done in the modern era?

Reality would be he gets a train and trial for off season, then potential to convert as he progresses provided he meets performance metrics. He shouldn’t be included in the NRL squad until he gets runs on the boards with games on his belt.

It would be a crazy thing to do.
If you want someone who is good at making toilet booze and sleeping all day long then fine.
I mean what is his fitness level?
A bit of bench press in the yard and occassional grab arse in the shower won’t really have him keeping up will it?
The guy is a POS criminal…I’d prefer he didn’t come anywhere near his brothers to be honest.
Also we have a young bloke coming through….lets develop him eh?

Manly let API go because of Manase he's getting out after 4 years when his sentence was 8 lucky boy

But not playing for 4 years is a big stretch to come back from

I see him as at least two off season to get timing back if he can and at least 18 to try and get a start in first grade

It would be great if the club looks after him to a certain point offering him an opportunity but he's the one who's got to do the work no one else can.........

Stabbing someone at a church dance is at a level of stupidity that not many can reach good luck to him

I am still unsure where Latu will best be suited. And I think Javon Andrews has a higher ceiling as a 5/8

Worth a try on min. wage. What have got to lose, everything to gain.
Keep the Fainu boys and family very happy.
