Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Luciano is very lazy in defence which was why i believe we were prepared to let him go to the cows, nothing has changed defence wise.He is not an answer to our edge defence and if anything he would make it worse.

I agree about the edge, but he would help our middle, the spot he should have been playing for years. I think Hunt tore his pec today

I guess after hearing Luais comments I thought Bunty was going to be our sleeper for this season. Didn’t realise his situation, actually thought he was Top 3.
There are certainly other Top 30 players who are ready to be moved on.
I didn't have high hopes for Bunty when he signed (was fine with the signing given it wasn't top 30 just didn't expect much).
But then foolishly I bought into the pre-season hype and actually started to believe he would add something to the side.

Is there still time for us to retain the

WOODEN SPOON,
WE SHOWED TODAY WE ARE BAD ENOUGH.
No.
Luckily Saints are in this comp.
For them to beat us, we’d have to go winless for the rest of the year and they’d need 5 more wins.
If we win 1 more, they’d need 6 and so on.
Too big of an ask.

We literally just got pumped by 68 and people are wanting to sign poor defensive players
If you haven’t noticed our current team haveca few players that struggle to defend or attack and hardly anyone that bends the line when running the ball.
Good players in teams that going well aren’t available and are not an option to he signed.
Surely 4 absolute beltings have shown us we do not have the calibre of players tj be competitive when we have a few players out injured.
So do we just be happy with what we cooked today, be happy with what we copped against the Sea Eagles, Sharks and Storm ?
Or do we acknowledge we need better depth and at least try and do something about it ?

That’s like saying you need to lose weight so you’re going to eat more junk food to see if it helps.

We just need to jag wins every other week if possible and hope for a full squad and make a run. Retention of players has been good but we have to recruit. I’m just hoping we can end up at a 50% win rate at least. Highly unlikely.

The only place they will be making a run too is the toilet after curry night at Terrell’s place…

Omg. I can't believe people are throwing Luciano and Sulis name around as potential signings. Does anyone actually think this is smart in any way shape or form? They are being marched by a team coming last for a reason.
They’d have blended right in today.

I’ve gone back to my old NFL coaching manual to see what they say about a crushing loss.

Implement the 24 hour rule.
Give the team ( including players, coaches)
24 hours to review and reflect on the defeat, and extract the key learnings. Then move on. So that’s Monday.

Go back to fundamentals for first and maybe second training sessions. Revisit the team goals as well as basic individual responsibilities - passing, catching, tackling, etc. This helps the team reset without putting too much mental pressure.
So that’s Tuesday/ Wednesday.

Then revert to more involved team training for the balance of the week, at all times looking ahead not past.
So that’s Thursday/Friday.

Sounds like a reasonable plan to me.
