Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

His minutes seem to be his decision. Benji said last year that he gets pissed off if he has to come off. I feel like a more experienced coach would have him playing 55-60. 65-70, he’s a big pillow.
Are you kidding me ?? Mate , the 50 tackles he is made to do by having to cover all the middle by himself every game takes away from his attack a little bit .. Jesus you people have no idea, Terell is having to carry the pack every game with Alex teal and he doing the work of 4

We got a massive belting today but not unexpected considering our best middle, best edge, best 7 and best centre were missing on top of a few others. This of course has a domino effect thru the grades and we were not thrashed in reserves and Flegg were within a converted try. This was all against the best team in the comp. My point is okay it was disappointing but our depth is not as bad as everyone is saying considering our injury toll. No team could cover a injury list like ours at present, although most could compete a tad better

No doubt we would be a much worse team without Terrell, but my question is why are we playing him for 80mins each game when we were getting much better impact out of him when he was having a 20-25min break each game earlier in the season when we were playing much better and winning ?
The other question is how much are we paying him each season with his contract extension ?
Due to him being a hard working toiler rather than an impactful player who can influence the game in our favour with his power and aggression, we really shouldn’t be paying him more than 800k, but I’ve got a suspicion we are paying him around 1 million per season for his contract extension which is definitely too much.

Good player, but look at the backline he’s on the end of. He’s not going to score 20 trys in a half a season on the end of ours.
It’s like Alex Johnston, I could score many of those tries coz it’s put on a platter.
We need to focus on buying/developing the guys inside who can make it happen.

It's the same stupid crap the people use to go on about Isaiah Papilli when he was here. There workload is off the charts in D and then because they are not breaking tackles they are labelled as plodders. It is also why good players choose to play with better squads.

What is it with this team our top 17 was killing it and we looked to have turned the corner, then these injuries happen and the next up still to this day are just crap.

Too small, too slow and a bunch of opiums (slow working dopes), trouble is after all these D head expansion ideas of the NRL it makes it near impossible to buy your way out of it, soon to be a too diluted player pool.

The only way we achieve success is within and unfortunately that could take another 5 years, oh the pain, the pain.

Benji has to take ownership of this mess
Little wonder theyre loyal to him and not the club..get paid above market price but no demands for accountability and performance whtsover
And because we pay a handful so much,we surround you with mediocrity
Dont worry boys..you will still be home in time to pick up yr kids from school
This is where we miss Richos dose of reality
You've hit the nail on the head with this post. Richo also wouldnt have signed Benji for 5 years.

Or you can treat recruitment and retention like Melbourne Storm did for many years and find the off cuts from other teams that fit the description of players that can help fill voids we have in certain positions.
One teams trash can be another teams treasure.

Please don't suggest Suli and Luciano again V, I haven't got a chuck bag handy, they are old discards that we couldn't fit in the cap anyhow.

We can always stick with the players who played today which are very similar to the ones that also got flogged by Manly, Sharks and Melbourne.
I suppose why change anything if it’s working so well 🤷🏼‍♂️

We just need to jag wins every other week if possible and hope for a full squad and make a run. Retention of players has been good but we have to recruit. I’m just hoping we can end up at a 50% win rate at least. Highly unlikely.
We don’t deserve to be anywhere near the finals and we won’t be.
