here's the definition of storm in a tea cup

"storm in a teacup" means thata lot of unnecessary anger, worry, or fuss is being made about a matter that is ultimately trivial or unimportant. It describes a situation where a minor issue is exaggerated and blown completely out of proportion.

In my view, it was blown out of proportion at the height of woke. I didn't understand what all the fuss was about.

You are conflating 2 issues with Manly - Folau was cancelled. The Manly players weren't. That's the difference.

Not sure what platform you think he is going to have - you think he's waiting to sign a train and trial to write bible passages that mention alcoholics and homosexuals? Personally, I think it won't see the light of day and you're too invested in the nonsense that was created at the time.

He will get 3 or 4 games to plug a hole when needed - we don't need to create any hysteria around it.

You were the one that compared it to Manly in the first place by downplaying that incident (“ that seemed to be ok” ) in comparison to Folau … that wasn’t the case at all, both on and off the field …That was what I was saying there …

I love it how you make the prior incident about me .…I don’t care what he does… but I am concerned around potential ramifications for the club now for not much potential benefit …

Better than what we have atm

Sure he has his off field dramas but he brings a wealth of professional experience to the side and he can be no worse than what we have

He'd be on minimum and would fill a void that we desperately need filled for the rest of this year

Relax man - maybe you misread my point about Manly.

This is about Folau being cancelled no? That's how I read it. Correct me if I'm wrong.

It is the reason I made a direct comparison with Manly players, yet they were not cancelled. All are still playing in the NRL. Hence, why I said "that seemed to be ok" in contrast to Folau getting punted out of the game.

I never said nobody got upset or it wasn't made out to be a big deal. I said that it was overblown in my opinion (storm in a teacup).

If your point was that it was a big drama at the time, then I am not disagreeing with you. Hope that clears things up.

We might agree that his opinions are “trivial”, but unfortunately in this society that doesn’t stop opinions like this when expressed publicly by famous people from turning into bigger problems…the groups he spoke about are extremely political as I’m sure you know as well as I do …I just don’t see the juice as being worth the squeeze …

Cant see that being reported anywhere. Who really cares if he gets a train and trial and bounces between Cup and RMC for the year?

Regardless, its not like the Tigers are begging him to come. We have enough to be embarrassed at the moment, we don't need to be making things up.

Yes we can agree.

But I doubt he will rehash that issue. Far worse getting around in the NRL...just ignore the haters.
