Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Someone I know who is connected to the club reckons we might be signing Will Penisini.
My immediate reaction was I doubt it when he is managed by Isaac Moses.
Although he is not blessed for speed like Jake Averillo, Will Penisini is very strong and aggressive and a top class right centre when he is not injured.
Both of them are injured at the moment, maybe we need to sign both and hope one of them is fit to play each week.
Would get a great get Vicious. Averillo has better utility value but Penisini is a better centre. I do wonder if Rugby is knocking on the door. Strange he hasnt re-signed yet

If Alex Conti is killing it in nsw cup while Mitchell Woods is injured and the dogs need a 7 and Galvin at 6 why don't they try it while they're on the bottom of the ladder??? Conti won't hang around if he can't get a start while in good form, what else can he do ???
What contract is Conti on this year? Is he eligible for NRL?

What's the holdup with the Averillo signing and Fainu’s extensions, taking forever it's about time they were done.

FFS what's the problem pull the finger out.
Reportedly signed last Tues....so we are only a week into the cooling off period, maybe weeks end though I'd doubt theyd announce it the day before we play them

That was someone from our forum but the media reported it was done weeks ago, suppose see what transpires in the next week.

Fainu’s is puzzling though, so called love the club and want to stay but still crickets.

Ok ?

We had a plethora of halves at the club at the time ( Latu , Galvin and Bud amongst them) … that’s the way it goes sometimes
He wanted to stay. We wanted to keep him but he wanted more we could offer him. So he went to another club, who also couldn't offer him what he wanted and where he was even further down the pecking order.

We should have been able to keep him on a youth and then train and trial deal. That's what he accepted at the dogs. He's easily the best halfback the club has produced in the last decade and we never gave him a chance. And we also never replaced him and our lower grades sides have struggled without a genuine halfback.

He's never likely to be a superstar but he's got a lot of Adam Sezer like skills and could well have a solid career in first grade.

Agree
Large won the GPS 100 m sprint a cple of years back...hes no slouch..., had the potential to play in another position, at least for the interim..particularly given Luais contract situation
we poorly managed IMO
We suggested that. His family said no. 5/8 or nothing. No willingness to have a crack at fullback or centre.

I can see him turning into a Koula type player if he wants to play outside backs.

Im also beginning to think who is going to lead us into the 2030's.
Very important recruitment coming up
Im thinking blokes like Jake Preston or Hudson young have that leadership in them, respect, they play with a follow me attitude...moreso Young imo
I think they could both develop further into fine leader
Keep dreaming. Those sorts of players will never join us
