Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Javon Andrews as the backup 6 in 27 and starting in 28

Latu Fainu mite never start a game at 7 the Tiger's have him in cotton wool

But Andrews played 7 for QLD and won man of the match he's almost ready
Agree they need to give him, Andrews, and Attard reps in reggies to build their connections and develop their games. If what we hear is the case Latu should dominate which will build his confidence and prepare him for one position in 1st grade.

Junior Tupou could be a good get at the right price.

By my reckoning, we need a 1st choice back-up right centre who is versatile enough to play other side & both wings.

If we agree that our three-quarter line for 2027 is Turuva, May, Averillo, Makasini, one of our dire needs is that person who is 1st drop with NRL experience.

Was hoping Skelton would be it but he has hardly played centre since joining the NRL from Rugby 7s.

Unfortunately not too many other options out there who are off-contract and may come across for $200-$250k max. Maybe a Jaxson Paulo at NQ. If Tupou finds his mojo again, he could be our man.

Yes.

Junior was under contract with the Roosters until end 2027…don’t know the amount ,,,assuming it’s low …and they might be kicking in to move him along…

still …I would rather Skelton …

Interestingly, Xerri being referred to as a 'strike centre'. I haven't seen much of that since his Cronulla days.

Also Gould on Burton -

Canterbury supremo Phil Gould referred to Burton’s potential market value – particularly as a marquee half in the sights of Perth – last month on The Bye Round podcast.

“Over the next 18 months we’ve got to work out what we pay Matt Burton,” Gould said.

“If he plays centre, what are you going to pay him? If he plays five-eighth, what are you going to pay him? Well, he’s got some decisions to make.”
