Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I thought Tupou showed some real promise in his first year here.
Got a lot of tools for a gun winger
And, yes, a few deficiences - like the consistent drop ball in him and positionally in D.

Concerning two coaches in a row haven't been able to get anything out of him though...
I can see him getting a good shot here. Might even be second choice winger after Turuva

Yes. Please tell Tom. Tupou will be playing NSW Cup. Top 30 means something to him, but to Tupou it means best centre in KOE Western Suburbs Magpies.
I think players like Luke L are clearly nrl standard . He will be on that bears wing for as long as they’ll have him. But guys like Tupou are too good enigmatic . Like Skelton or the Jennings brothers back in the day . Only teams like the broncos can afford to keep your Luke L types , most will go searching for an opportunity .
I think with Dunster Herbert and tupou you create far more depth , especially when you add tino and hopefully guys like saukuru , and Brookes. I think it’s not a bad signing . We need another edge backrower though . Even with Schuster.

On nrl 360 averillo salary averages at 700k a season!!! Massive overs imo
It's overs, but is Averillo quality?

Remember Josh Reynolds, he was overs for 700k. The biggest problem was not him delivering 350k of value, it was that he was useless once Marshall rejoined the side.

Moses Mbye was a stupid, stupid signing. for 750k I don't think he ever earned his paycheck. I hated that signing with a passion..
Yet to Mbye's credit, he turned up. He was on the field and often in our best 13, which says how bad the squad was. Mbye would deliver value, maybe 400k worth of value just never his 750k paycheck.

Looking more recent:
Terrell May, worth every penny.
Hunt, questionable as he performs very strongly for 20-30 minutes per game.
Jack Bird, punted 1 year into a 2 year contract.

I am less worried if Averillo provides 600 even 500k value. more that we sign someone and end up with a 700k paperweight.

I liked Luke in the end. He is good out of yardage. Little tank.

Haven't seen Tupou play since he was with us, but he's been dumped by the Dolphins and now the Roosters.

Maybe when he comes to Pacific Islands United aka Wests Tigers, he'll start to shine in a comfortable environment.

Some women sell their urine online to desperate men, so there's worse people in the world than Junior Tupou. Unlike the many disappointed fathers of these women, hopefully Junior makes us all proud.

Can't comment about him really, even though I have.

Dunster, Herbert and Tupou even Schuster all seem to be similar type signings. All with good pedigree but all probably their last chances to crack it. Very Bennett-esque from Benji

People saying its only a KOE cup signing theres nothing to lose

This is our depth we are talking about....weve seen how poor that is this year, I think we should be treating our depth signings as important as our top grade signing.
Are these just names to make up a quota?

I think I counted last year we used 14 players in the back 5 that we used so probably the same this year so every spot is important

If the Club does welcome back Tupou hopefully he will bust his arse and play his heart out in an effort to prove himself not only to the Tigers but to any of the expansion clubs in the next few years or even the Super League.
However I think this will be his last shot at first grade with an established club.
