Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Newcastle were happy to see the back of him when we signed him and they were not going well at the time. Tells you a bit
Yea, (assuming Toa). Look as a Fringe Grader he improved when he was here.

He has reached his potential and at best is a depth Center (which we actually need as Taylan could need time off).

Patrick Herbert is cheaper and can offer the same kind of depth.

All said, not begrudging Toa. He broke bones for our club, wish him well.

We beat good teams like the Warriors, Cowboys and the Knights quite comfortably with our best backline …even missing Luai at least one of those ..

The problem arises when we have a couple out and the backups are typically exposed
I said during the Knights game that Makasinis defence would cost us the game. Inevitably it did by missing a tackle on Young in his in goal that led to him handing it off to Best to finish it off.

Maka has cost us 2 critical games now where we may be looking at 9 wins 6 losses or 8 wins 7 losses which puts a different complexion on the season.

Through injury, we have suffered this year which is a shame, because overall, I think we are good enough to be top 6 with our best team on the park.

Btw - not panning Maka as a player. Just pointing out he's nowhere near ready for the responsibility of being a starting centre at NRL level. Too young. Too raw. Needs work.

I'd call that the worst depth in the competition by a long long way.
Cmon BB

So you want to blow our cap on Depth? Upgrade the above?

1. Attard
2. Tavana
3. Tupou
4. Herbert
5. Saukuru
6. Andrews
7. Fainu

Herbert is a good cheap center. Tavana is a developing winger.
Fainu/Andrews is a decent halves pairing for Cup.

Big money? Only Fainu I believe. That's what you want in your depth so you can spend on your 1-19.

Saukuru is probably the only one I would move on as they have been with us for ages and haven't done too much.

TLDR, not too bad.

totally agree he has been destroyed at centre needs time to develop can play wing though

Looking at Mikaele's stats:

He has very good run meters. But what do you expect in a Todd Payten squad?

The one thing Payten can coach is props.
Poor Thomas, I’m still waiting for him to get that elusive first try!

Looking at your stats, you have many posts...but not too many likes.

Who is coaching you?

Only there because of injuries, played a good trial, got big wraps and he’s done little since. It’s an old story.

Makasini let a couple of breaks through his defence during the knights game when their tall winger burnt Mskssini easily with speed and good line running.
So yes he is defensively not experienced enough to be defending as a centre at his young age. That plus the big miss down at the Knihhts in goal cost the Tigers dearly.
He will improve heaps over the next few years.

How can he preform at his best with a busted AC I really feel for the kid and people judging him in his first year playing busted

Good on him trying his best turning up and hanging tough it will do one of two things toughing him up or break him
