Lestronge, Rather then you putting shit on these 4 players and Isolate them, why don’t you look at all the errors that other more senior and non senior players have had over the last 10 weeks and call them out. Some of the players that single Handley lost us the games with missed tackles, drop ball and poor errors causing us penalties where we needed to work extra hard in defence are still being called up to play each week.
if the Tigers lose against Canberra this week and these 4 players are not playing, what is your stance then?
The reason why they are doing well in cup is because it is obvious that the coach makes them play as a team and does not accept players giving individual performances. He will not put up with that shit. That’s why they play well and in many instances obtain the right results.
If the coach had his way and they let him pick his team each week rather then chop and change, they would win the reserve grade comp.
In our NRL team we have individuals who play for themself and some are just point stacking rather then doing what’s best for the actual team.
You can easily identify the NRL games where team cohesion was present and they played for each other. We either won the game or lost marginally but the effort and team work was there.
I think your choice of word’s abomination are way below the belt. These players in any other club would thrive because they would have the right support structure around them and the right coaching.
Looks like Saukuru may also fall into your category of abomination but he keeps yielding the right results in cup and is our best try scorer because THE TEAM uses the backline as they should to put points on the board. The ball does not get held up mid play causing the attack line to choke.
If Saukuru was given the chance to debut and the team keeps playing the way they are playing he would likely never see the ball unless running from our try line to gain yardage.
Just for your info, clubs like Manly have a one on one coach and player review each week where the coach identifies the good things the player did in the game and areas that need improvement with a plan on what to work on for next game. Goals and targets are set for the following week then recalibration occurs.
They also have a game plan and strategy each week. I find it hard to see any of this in our team but it might be there and the players are not responding hence the results.
Looking forward to watch the Viking clap this week!
What a load of self indulgent bullshit. Who mentioned Sukaruu, he hasn’t even been given a go. What I replied to was a post about depth , so I don’t know whatevertirade you’re carrying on about .
Those 4 players were given a lot of squad responsibility , re they were to lead the cup team , and do a job in nrl when required . They haven’t done it . But they’re not Robinson Crusoe , many haven’t done their job at times . But that’s not what the conversation was about . It was about squad depth , and the post I replied to was that these guys were Massey level .
So pay attention to what’s actually being said . I’ve been more than critical of the main team , but find those endless conversations to be repetitive and boring .
I don’t know whose family member you are , but everything I’ve said has been spot on . ….. talk about strawman yeesh .
As for your nonsense about cup teams being consistent wtf are you even talking about ? The cup team should and usually are replicas of the nrl team , and are treated as transit lounges between nrl fringe players , and Flegg players , with different agendas re. Development , form slumps , repetition , injury recovery , depth trials re. Positioning . What’s the point of winning cup if the flegg and nrl team are struggling .
Saukuru arm grabs in defence , that’s why he’s being held back . So he needs to get his positioning better . I’ve been very bullish on him , and said he and Roberts were my 2 Smokey’s for nrl before a ball was kicked . Go back and read . And if he can get his defence right I’ll have been correct .
Those 4 I pointed out all either have had long 2nd tier footy careers , or have played a fair chunk of nrl . So my expectations for them are far higher than guys like lanyon Saukuru heyward etc. Bunty falls into a similar boat .
Also what has hog footy got to do with missing tackles , not getting back on side , getting beaten in contact , beaten on the outside , giving away penalties , shit ball distribution , not getting the ball to the edges when you’re dummy half ..whatever you’re on about , these are the things that I found abominable. Nothing to do with attack .
