Even if a halves combination of Latu and Javon are considered the future, they are both so young and inexperienced as NRL halves, you need some experienced NRL halves as options just in case one or both of them don’t play as well as we are hoping.
We had this perfectly covered with Doueihi and Madden as back ups to step in if either of the youngsters don’t work out as planned.
This being the case, surely Doueihi has earned and is deserving of an opportunity to play alongside of one of our youngsters such as Javon to see if their combination works?
This along with the decision to constantly overlook an emerging talent in Saukuru along with many other poor team selections, poor interchange selections and poor recruitment and retention decisions unfortunately shows that Benji has no idea and we will just continue banging our head against a wall as long as he is our coach,

Do we know for sure that Benji isn’t doing exactly what you say and moving on? Maybe he has seen enough of Adam at 7 to know he’s not the future, I know that’s how I feel.
One thing we sure as hell can’t have is players dictating to the coach who get picked and who doesn’t or what positions they play.

Maybe Benj has identified that and the club might be happy to swap AD out for a game manager?

AD is a very good ball runner, Luai is not a ball runner or a creator or a thinker, all he does is try and drive others and tackles well when his mind is on the job.
Latu and Javon are both potentially much better all round halves, but until shown otherwise at NRL level, we will not know for certain.
Very risky and stupid if going into a new NRL season with 2 very inexperienced NRL halves without having very good experienced back up options just in case 2 young halves playing together does not work,

AD can’t come back from this . If he’s gone full “he should be dropped instead of me “ , then that’s untenable . It’s unprofessional and IMO indicative of a bigger issue at the club . There’s too many guys at the club who think they’re above it.
And as such when shit gets real go into business for themselves. Whether it’s self preservation , hero mode , or simply just going “screw this , my check cleared this month” .
I genuinely think this behaviour is parasitic and contributes to losing . I wonder how much bitching has been going on about luai for a while now .
Simply put every single member of the club who’s top 30 should have a club first mentality , especially a guy who was given a lifeline a mere 18 months ago when no one wanted him . And tipped up just cause the club wanted him to feel valued.
Luai is the guy selling the sponsors and corporates . He and Api are the 2 faces on everything . AD is in the background somewhere. When luai leaves you can say all the thank F that’s over all you want , but until then you STFU do the role that’s given to you to the best of your ability , and actually see if this shit can work . Because hero ball AD style has led to sweet F A points. Thats hero ball Luai style as well .
I think a clean sweep of our halves is the right thing to do .
And imo if you won’t do a job for your team , than how can your team run lines to create space for you , take hitups where you jam hard into the line knowing your going to get wrecked , so he can score on the edge , jump in front of you to smash that hard running forward , so you preserve your energy for later .
Regardless of who should be dropped and not , I think if Latu was available both luai and AD should have been moved out of the halves for what it’s worth , that shit is irrelevant . And anyone who says it is relevant , is literally the problem especially if you wear a jersey come Saturday .

I don’t agree at all on Latu . His first receiver play has come in leaps and bounds and especially in shape he looks like he’s transitioning closer to the ruck . The issue will be his game management and kicking both long and short .
Because he hasn’t been really asked to do that for 18months it doesn’t mean he hasn’t been working on it .
It’s literally the season prior wtf are you even talking about ? There heaps of halves off contract . Nikorima for example could do a good job .
If AD gets the ball anywhere in the middle third of the field , you can pretty much kiss goodbye any chance of getting good ball as an edge player . Even when we were winning he was simply holding the ball and finding space between the 3 and 4 man . Anything any closer and the play would just die .
I get the loyalty from the Lebanese community . It’s awesome you’re all backing your own . But if you want the wests tigers to be successful it will never happen with AD in the halves.
Reconcile with that all you want . And when AD retires , he will regret not just this situation but the fact he never moved into the forwards . Because if he does leave and go to say the bears for example , he will be in SL by 2029/30 . At best he will get the Jackson Hastings treatment , because no coach will give him leverage like we do at the tigers with any of our juniors . As soon as he under performs he will be 19th man or playing against Newtown most weekends . And that will be a real shame ….
Nikorima is not coming to Wests Tigers even as a 33y.o to be a back uk and even if he did, his defence as a small 33y.o makes Doueihi’s defence look rock solid.
You are dreaming if you think replacing Douehi with a 33y.o Nikorima makes us a better team,
