The players looked sad. My theory is that it relates to kades earlier post that Benji wont be coach next year.

They just had 50 put on them. After what I’m sure was the toughest week they have had all season. For all we know the toughest week of some players careers. The younger ones anyway. And they’ve had to bus it all the way down to Canberra. They were no doubt miserable all things considered. There doesn’t have to be a deeper meaning than that.

Andrew Farrah and David Wade i think their names were did it for st george illawarra in their first year in 1999. Got them to the grand final. Lost to melbourne when Ainscough tried to take some ones head off in goal and melbourne were awarded a penalty try.
Unlike us unfortunatly that Dragons team was stacked. Only one i can think of.

SUrely Benji's 4 yr contract is worth what the top coaches get in 2 years. Still not good to keep paying out coaches.

not a coincidence that ben gardiners name was shared today as applying for st george, even though he has a 5 year contract with PNG, his agent is subtly letting it known that he available

Sheens was terrible his short second tenure at the club … nothing good has come out of that

With talk of Benji being sacked, I wonder how HE would feel if the club didn't sack him but demoted to assistant coach.

Would keep the playing group on board but could Benji's ego handle it.

If it's good enough for a coach to demote a player and ask that they still buy in let's put it back on Benji and see if he would do what's best for the Wests Tigers

They all love Benji? They don’t go out and play for him! By comparison look at the Cowboys last night, they love playing for Todd Payten and it shows in their gritty performances and will to win. That’s what a real team does, not give the bs lip service all time then go out and play like a pack of mongrel dogs.

The coaches are not working.

Unfortunately we have brought in a bunch of club legends and now have to get them off side as they are not up to it. The defence and attack are horrible. Both need to go unfortunately. Flanagan or Gardiner are the best available. Make them assistant and if Benji falls over (very likely) in the next 6 months then we have an able replacement.

I am sure we have, but I can't remember a 3 month period where we have played worse since our inception. Pretty much 5 losses of 50 (or close to), and then two thirty point hammerings in there as well. Have barely looked like being in a game.

Benji also made comments about players being paid good money and and having a job to do... and backed it up with "whether they respect it or not"..

That early video of Benji telling players if they aren’t all in this season they can walk out the open door has grown old very quickly 😞
